Can Kissy go home and back to being Davey?

“I want you to take me home,” I told her.

She nodded.

“Mom is going out with friends, and if I get home before her, I’ll have time to get all—get rid of all this—stuff. And go back to being D-davey.”

She shook her head and pulled me against her. “You can’t,” she said.

I flared. “The hell I can’t,” pushing her away, or trying to. “You can’t make me do anything I don’t want to do.”

Science and Dan O'Neil both explain that Tuesday afternoon is the most productive time of the week. No one wants to work on Friday or Monday or any morning at all for that matter. And Thursday afternoon is taken up making plans for Friday; you can't get things done on Wednesday because that's Hump Day, for gosh sakes.

That leaves only Tuesday afternoon, you're awake and rested from the weekend, Friday is far enough away you can pretend you have plenty of time to make plans and you need room on your desk to eat your Hoagie so you might as well do some work.

Got up this morning with a paragraph in my head. Finally had to write it down.

Sanford was one of those guys. You know, the ones who can eat anything they want, as much as they want and never gain an ounce. The ones who look great in casual clothes or a tailored suit or just your imagination. Of course, he got up every morning before dawn, did his stretches and ran two miles before breakfast. Yeah, one of those guys.

Obviously, I'm one of those gals who get up in the morning with a paragraph stuck in their head. :)

Since we just finished a story challenge and had some good offerings from it, I'm considering making a new challenge.

I'll be posting my new chapter, #8 Cold, Rain and Breakfast, tomorrow as soon as I have let it cool off so I can edit it.

Sorry it's been so long but I have been sick for about 5 weeks. Went to the doctor today and he offered to X-Ray my head to see if there's anything in there, but I told him I didn't want to know that bad. Otherwise, I'm much better so it's back to work.

Just posted a new chapter of my Regency Romance, His Inconstant Desire. In this episode, Constantine has to deal with his female relatives desire to dress him appropriate to his new role as youngest daughter. Father wants to see her at dinner.

I'm trying to make this as much as possible within the realm of other Regencies. We have a heroine with an unusual past and a unique problem: in this case, she's been raised as a boy. That's not actually too far outside other Regency stories, that often feature tomboyish heroines with unusual backgrounds.

Marjorie seemed convinced that despite physical evidence, I was really a girl and would only be happy if I admitted it.

“Don’t you think I’d know that if it were true?” I told her. “I’m not someone on an afternoon agony show, I’m just a skinny nerd boy who apparently is easily talked into things.”

Marjorie headed directly to the lingerie department where I began practicing my cringing. The sum total of taboo femininity in sight overwhelmed my brain and my consciousness threatened to strobe out.

“She’s serious,” I muttered to no one.

She had a bra in her hands and approached me, saying, “Let me use this to get an idea of your sizes.”

Davey can't figure out what Marjorie sees in him. She's older, richer and way hotter than he is! Then he finds out Marjorie may be a lesbian. Now he's really confused!

Davey's nickname is Butterscotch because of the color of his freckles. But Marjorie seems to think he's much too sweet to be a boy!

Just so everyone knows, the fire in Calimesa is about two miles to the west of me, down in the canyon, and the wind is blowing north. I'm fine and the dog is fine.
