Nice change...
Nice change of pace - when the family (sans Simon, of course) gets out to ride. Toss in a bit of education and it's an extra treat.
On the subject of sharing info like Cathy did (and then Meems did to Simon)... It occasionally happens just in the nick of time for our kids - as if we used ESP to guess... Happened once with my daughter. We were talking about something on the way to drop her off at school... And, ding, that showed up on a quiz in "World History" that day. She was the only one in the class to get that one right, too... (She's not complained about me discussing trivia bits since!)
Thanks,
Annette
Of course there is no mention
... of the US in that listing of nations. Oh well.
You can be anti-war all you like but when men like that are not muzzled by their own people and women especially if women hate war so then you gets what you gets.
There are also way too many sanctimonious leaders out there who think war is justified, look at Dubble-Ya in the US and the fools who re-elected him.

Isn't Meems the banshee child?

No mention of the US! Huh????
....er ..... if you imagine a comma between the words "American" and "Canadian", I think you'll get it! Just one tiny little typo and out comes an unjust complaint!
Omission,
Apologies for the omission of the aformentioned comma. I plead tiredness, have worked 12hour days most of the week.

It wasn't...
It wasn't really needed, for understanding. Most of us know that those two countries are NOT the same by any stretch of the imagination... :-)
We all get tired... You go above and beyond in treating our addiction. For this we are very thankful! (I'm sure I speak for most of your readers on this one. But, if not, they'll tell me.)
Thank you,
Annette
Mima
Interesting to see that she's smarter than she appears. Being the youngest of the original threesome (Mima, Trish, Livvie) and coupled with her innocence and characteristic speech, it's easy to overlook her. But in this episode she soaked up the history like a proverbial sponge. So with Trish's intelligence largely centred around enquiry and research; while Mima's is centred around memory; once we've found out Livvie's particular strength they could make a formidable team. Potential attackers of the family always come worse off at the moment - usually due to Cathy's bowmanship. Imagine what it'll be like in a few years time one the girls have grown and matured a little. Heck, by then the three young'uns (Puddin', Fiona and Catherine) may be showing signs of talent as well.
Which brings to mind a silly micro-scene: About eight years' time, when TLM are entering their teens and PFC are starting primary school. Some idiot tries to kidnap Simon (again - that seems to be his particular talent!), then is finally caught and exposed: "...and I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling kids!" :D
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
Unless my adding is wrong
I think it was something more than 300 years after the disaster that Mary Rose saw daylight again.

War is never a
good thing affecting as it did in WW11 so many innocent people, Having said that does anyone here believe we would making comments about the life and times of Cathy Cameron and her lovely family if Herr Hitler had won.... I think its fair to say that those who died did not do so in vain, Living under a dictatorship is not something many if any of us have ever experienced, Its for that reason i give my thanks to those who made the greatest sacrifice of all and allowed us all to be true to ourselves...

War
It does seem that a lot of wars are fought not in a countries interests, but for special interests.
