I started Sunday with my usual morning jog showered, did my feminine routine and had just dressed in some casual clothes when I came out to the kitchen and saw Sam there wearing a collared shirt and a pair of dress pants. I asked him what the occasion was and he said that he was heading for church. I asked him what time the service was and he said it would be in about an hour and a half. Pondering this for a moment I asked Sam if it would be alright if I accompanied him.
I was aware of the church denomination and that they were fairly liberal in their views so I felt that this would be a great experience for me. I told Sam that I would be ready in about 30 minutes and he said that would work. Having finished a quick breakfast, I moved quickly to getting changed.
A very nice dress that I had not had the opportunity to wear came to my mind and this would be the right opportunity to wear it. I did decide to go with waist cincher since it added to my figure. My makeup application was light, enough to conceal and enhance but not to draw any attention to me. After checking that all my prosthetics were in place and member taped, I went with a pair of panty hose and panties for extra protection. After brushing my wig getting my necklace and other jewelry on I slipped on a pair of two inch pumps.
It actually took me an extra 15 minutes to get ready but Sam was relaxed about the time, though he did say that we out to get a move on. So grabbing my bag I followed Sam out to his car. Sam drove and we did discuss the wedding a bit as we went. I made a remark about keeping up the cover story since we already new it and though he didn’t think there would be a reason to use it, it was best to be prepared.
As we entered the foyer of the church a couple approached us and Sam introduced me to two of his church friends, Sally and Hank. Sam gave the background story while I added a couple of remarks. We eventually moved inside. Sam and Hank continued their conversation and Sally and I took seats next to each other. At first this made me a bit nervous since I was worried about my voice in singing some of the hymns.
I mentioned this quietly to Sally by saying, “I might not sound to great since I haven’t sung any hymns for some time.”
Sally reassured me that most of the membership sang off key and I wouldn’t be noticed. Since I had, had training in choir and I knew that I could hold some countertenor notes this felt a bit more reassuring. During the service I remembered not to force my voice but allow it to project. Sally smiled a time or two at me and gave me a wink while we sang a hymn.
After the service Sally remarked, “Barb you actually have a wonderful voice, too bad you aren’t going be around the choir could actually use someone who could sing.”
We both laughed at that remark. Sally then excused herself by saying that she had to work the morning refreshments at occurred after the service. Feeling very comfortable with Sally I asked if I could help, and she replied that she could always use an extra hand. I found an apron and put it on then got busy cutting up some cakes and brownies that had been supplied.
It was a wonderful feeling of helping Sally and just talking to her and a couple of the other women who came in to help. It felt like the most natural thing in the world for me to be doing on this morning. Sam seemed to have forgotten about me anyway as he and Hank seemed lost in their conversation. I helped Sally to clean up afterward and it was nearing lunch by the time we finished.
As Sally left the kitchen, she grabbed Hank and asked him something that I couldn’t hear but then she turned to Sam and I and asked if we would like to come over to their place for lunch. Nothing special just some things I will quickly put together. Sally then said to me. “I so much miss this type of company I would greatly appreciate you and Sam to come over.”
Well, that settled it for me, since I was really enjoying the female companionship that I was getting I urged Sam to accept the invitation. Sam easily went along with my request as he and Hank were getting along rather well and they seemed to want to continue their conversation. Sam and I got into our car and over to Sally’s and Hank’s house.
At the house Sally warmly greeting both of us with a warm hug and led us into the lounge room where Hank was already sitting. Sally told us to take seats and she would have lunch ready within the hour. Feeling very womanly about the situation I said to Sally, “Sally if you are just starting to prepare lunch I can help. Besides the guys seemed to engrossed on their conversation and I would just be in the way. I rather be helping you in the kitchen if you don’t mind.”
Sally responded, “I would love your company. Let me get you an apron so you won’t spoil that pretty dress of yours.”
With that Sally and I headed for the kitchen where she pulled out a very nice apron for me to wear. She first tasked me to make some refreshments for us and the guys which I quickly whipped up. I then took two glasses into the lounge room for Hank and Sam. Sally chided me on spoiling them as she said she would have just yelled at them to come and get their own.
I was having a totally wonderful time talking with Sally about just everything. We really didn’t get into very many personal topics although she did ask me my marital status and if I had any children. She then confessed to me in a wistful way that she had two adopted sons and adopted daughter, but was unable to have any children herself. The look she gave me as she told me that, encouraged me to go over to her and give her a hug. She was a bit surprised at my approach but immediately accepted it and return the hug which we held for a moment or two.
Upon releasing her, I could see a bit of a tear in her eye and she said, “thanks I really needed that,”
I responded by saying, “Sorry about being so forward but I just saw you needed a bit of comforting.”
Sally smiled and replied, “Yes and thank you again I needed that.”
She paused, smiled and said, “In some ways you fill the space of the daughter that I never had.”
I must have blushed because Sally then came over and gave me a hug. We then continued our conversation as we sustained our chatting and finishing preparations. While doing this a thought came to me saying if this is being a woman, I really am enjoying it. Within the hour we had lunch prepared and sat down to eat. The conversation was light and I was able to listen to the most recent church gossip.
After lunch I assisted Sally with clean up and all four of us took seats out on the patio while Hank brought out glasses of wine. We had not been sitting for more than 20 minutes before a neighbor next to Hank and Sally’s place popped his head over the fence. All three greeted the neighbor by name (John) and Hank introduced me. John then asked if he could come over and join us. Hank immediately replied, “Yes, come on over.
As Hank was saying this Sally gave Hank a stare with daggers in it. Hank didn’t see Sally’s look though until after he had agreed for John to come over. He then sort of innocently looked over to Sally and said, “what?”
She replied in a very tender tone, “you know exactly what.”
With that I could see Sam gag back a chuckle and Sally leaned over to me and said. “John is a chauvinistic, philandering, reprobate, who has been divorced for two years. Blames it all on his ex but I think she put up with a whole lot before seeing the light. He probably heard another female voice over here and wants to check you out.”
John came over with a drink in his hand and immediately started throwing questions at me. In between his questions he advocated a very right wing male viewpoint of the world. When I told him that I was an independent account auditor, running my own business he insisted that was because I was given it through connections with my brother. His viewpoint was that behind every successful woman there was a man showing her the way and making a road for them.
He then started spouting out his viewpoints on the transgendered and any one affiliated with the LGBT movement. His remarks of course hit a nerve and I began to politely ask a few pertinent questions regarding his beliefs. He reaffirmed this by saying “any transgendered man or woman was just making it up and was brainwashed by the media. Women were women and had a role in the home making it comfortable for the man that was supporting them.”
He then added, “for a woman to be a woman they needed to bare children of their own. A transgendered woman can’t bare a child and since she can’t bare a child she is not a woman.”
By the look on Sally’s face when John made his last statement that he had hit a nerve and she calmly but distinctly said, “John I can’t bare a child does that mean I am not a woman?”
John sort of back pedaled on this but Sally wasn’t going to let him off and said she knew of a couple of transgendered girls that had gone through some rough times and she saw them as women as any woman with fallopian tubes. It seemed that Sally was just about getting started when Hank spoke up and said, “John you have to excuse Sam and Barb as they have another get together coming up shortly so we will be going in. Thanks for coming over.”
John smiled and after picking up his empty glass replied, “Thanks and Barb if you are ever free let me know, I will see you around.”
All of us got up as John left and we went back into the lounge area, Sally apologized for the unplanned guest, while Hank gave her a thoughtful that said sorry. Sally then suggested that we all take in a movie the Materialists at the local theater, since she had been wanting to see one that one and it just came on. Hank rolled his eyes and let out an audible whisper, “chick flick.”
Sally hearing that said “Hank you don’t have to go.”
Then giving me a sort of sad asking face said, “Barb would you like to go with me?”
I smiled and said, “I would love to see that movie, I have heard a few reviews and they said it was pretty good. We can leave the guys here.”
Hearing that, Sally’s smile spread across her face and we headed for the theatre. Once at the theater we got our seats and of course some popcorn and drinks. We continued to chatting until the movie started and we did whisper a bit during the previews until we were hushed by some nearby movie goers.
After the movie, since we both had finished our drinks, we admitted that we had the need to visit the lady’s room. It seemed so natural to walk through the door with the lady icon on it as we chatted. I took an empty cubicle and relived myself and was already standing before the mirror when Sally finished.
I really looked myself over closely while before the mirror and I saw Sally staring at me and she smiled as she said, “Are primping for a date afterwards?”
“No,” I replied, “just looking for blemishes that always pop up.”
We both refreshed our lips in the mirror and I did a light brushing of my hair. I then noticed the lovely transgender earrings that Sally was wearing and told her, “Those are adorable earrings where did you get them?”
She replied, “Oh those lovely things my daughter gave them to me.”
Having finished our primping, we exited the room and then decided to stop by a nearby coffee shop and review the movie. Sally started out by commenting on how handsome the lead was and I surprised myself by then adding that his male costar was also cute. Sally then started apologizing for what happened with John.
I said to her, “I totally understand, how you felt, especially the comments that he made about having children.”
Sally then replied. “That was only the first part that riled me, his view point on transgendered also got to me.”
She continued. “I have to say I was a bit that way myself awhile back and I still think of myself as a fiscal conservative but my view point on the way some on the right treat other people just doesn’t go with my views.”
I asked, “How so?”
Sally then continued by saying, “I have a close childhood friend Holly who had a son that was transgender. He now a she, was about nine when her mother discovered the fact when she found her dressing in some of her sisters clothes. At the time she asked me my opinion of it and I was noncommittal and said it was probably just something a child would like to investigate further.”
Sally paused and looked wistfully out the window. She then continued, “Holly then held back and didn’t talk to anyone else about it, she did allow her daughter to experiment with dressing up put kept it as a secret between them. This continued on towards when she was starting puberty. At that time puberty blockers were just becoming accessible for the young and my friend asked me my opinion on it. I told her that he should develop naturally and it would probably do more damage to him than help him. Unfortunately, she followed my advice.”
Sally took a sip from her cup and continued, “Hollys’ daughter just turned 15 and was sort of doing okay in school but was withdrawn. On a weekend about a month after her birthday Holly and her husband took a weekend away. They were suppose to come back late, but due to the weather cancelled part of their stay. When they arrived home, they discovered their daughter fully dressed in her sisters clothing doing somethings in the kitchen. Well Hollys husband went off the deep end and starting hitting the child and saying no boy of mine is turning into some queer. Holly had to restrain him from doing more harm. That evening her daughter took an overdose of pills that almost killed her.”
Sally then said to me, “I hope that this is not unloading on you since we just met but I wanted to explain why John upset me so.”
I replied, “no not in the least. It is good when something like this is troubling you to get it off your chest.”
“Thanks.” Sally replied and then asked, “do you want to hear the rest of it?”
“Only if you wish to tell it.” I replied.
She then continued. “Well, they found her in the morning unresponsive and was able to get her to the hospital. Hollys’ husband at that point was insistent that they have her committed. Fortunately for Holly there was a place near where we lived at the time that would take in troubled youth and I mentioned it to Holly. Unknown to us at the time, they were specialized in dealing with teens and gender issues. Since the facility was about 6 hours away from them and close to me, Holly asked if I would drop in and see her daughter every now and then.”
“At first I did the visitations as a favor to Holly, but once I got her trust, and confidence and I got to know her better, I began more regular visits. During that time, she confided in me desire to be a woman and not fitting into her body. When Holly would be able to visit, we both went to see the attending physician and she reaffirmed what Holly’s daughter was going through. After 6 months in therapy the doctor recommended the use of hormone blockers to help her adjust. Hollys’ husband was adamant that was not going to happen to his son, and if it did, he was no son of his.”
Sally shook her head and then continued, “Holly’s husband forbid her to give permission for any drug that would be used to change his son. After a few weeks of torment though Holly and I came up with a plan to fix this. We proposed to Holly’s husband that Hank and I would adopt Holly’s daughter and she would no longer be his responsibility. We were both amazed at how readily he agreed to this with the stipulation of a name change and no monetary responsibility.”
“So this is how it came to be that I have a son who is now my daughter and I get really pissed at those who can’t live with a change in physical appearance to match ones soul.” Sally stated.
Upon Sally’s divulging her past I was feeling very warm and caring towards her up to the point of disclosing my secret, but I felt that it might be an imposition at this point. It did make me feel special that she had told me this and I told her as much.
She then said, “Well it really ticks me off when someone spouts that political B.S to me. Besides we didn’t move to our current location until our daughter Sarah was well into her transformation and John has only known her to be Sarah.”
Sally then laughed and said, “John actually tried to make the moves on her, but Sarah put him down hard and I think he is still feeling the rejection. Of course, he doesn’t know of her past. Presently she is a lawyer in the L.A. area giving up her time to help troubled teens.”
Sally and I finished up our drinks and went back to Sally’s place. On the way home I asked if the guys might have missed us and Sally just said, “As you enter the door look to the left in the lounge and you will see your answer.”
So once we did get back to Sally’s place I did look in lounge and saw both Sam and Hank fatefully sawing logs in each respective recliners. Our presence must have made enough noise that it woke up both of the guys. Sam stretched and looked at his watch and said, “Gee you two were gone for awhile we thought you might have met up with some guys and dumped us.”
I replied, “Oh we did but we were too much for them to handle to they dropped us,”
Sam then looked at his watch and said, “you know it is getting toward dinner why don’t Barb and I return the favor and take you out for diner. Nothing fancy but the steak house down the road.”
Hank was a bit hesitant but Sally seemed to be enjoying our company and said, “Sure we would love it. What time would you like to meet us there?”
Sam then looked at me and I replied, “Say in a couple of hours. I need to freshen up and put this dress in the laundry. About 6:30 should be okay. How will that do for you Sally?”
“That will do fine. I too need a bit of freshening up too.” Sally replied.
With that Sam and I said our good byes, and I had to give Sally a big hug before leaving. We were just in the car and Sam asked what we had talked about while were gone. I then coyly mentioned that it was about her daughter. Sam then nodded and asked, “Did she go into the whole story? If she did, you can see just what a kind and beautiful person she is.”
“Yes,” I replied “she did and she is.”
We then talked about what I was feeling at being so much a woman over the last couple of days. It was reassuring to hear his affirmation of my presentation as a woman that he for the most part just took me as I was.
We arrived back at Sam’s place where I removed and brushed my wig then took a quick shower and washed off my prosthetics. A close review of my face showed that the laser treatments had worked as there was very little stubble being shown. I did use my portable laser treatment to attack a couple of the barely noticeable places and then lightly went over my face with a razor. Over all my face felt smooth and soft.
Having reattached my prosthetics, I pulled on a clean pair of panties and matching bra and sat down and did my makeup. Upon finishing and after reattaching my wig I did my body spray and selected a pair of jeans, a cream blouse and a pair of ankle boots to wear. I also decided to go with a waist cincher since I wanted to especially enhance my curves. Putting that all on I found some dangling earrings and lovely stone colored long necklace that would bring attention to my feminine cleavage.
Once finished I checked my bag, spritz on a bit of perfume checked myself once again and exited the room. Sam of course had already changed and was watching T.V. as he waited for me. Seeing that we had about 15 minutes before we needed to leave he asked me what I had planned for next week.
Sitting down next to him I replied, “I was thinking of visiting my old alma mater and taking in the sights as a woman. I would like to know the feeling of walking around campus in a skirt”
Sam replied, “I know the place, I went to the same university. Also I still have a few acquaintances that I know that still work in the administration offices. I will see if I could get you a tour of campus.”
I was so excited about the prospect that I got up and gave Sam a hug and told him that would be great. He seemed a bit flustered at my emotion but quickly composed himself and said, “I will get to it the first thing in the morning,”
Soon we were off for diner, on the drive there I asked Sam, “Do you think I should come clean with Sally about my true gender?”
Sam thought a moment than said, “What you have presented to me and to everyone else so far is a woman who is concerned about others. I think telling Sally any different may distract her from your current relationship. She seems quite fond of you. Maybe sometime in the future yes, but I think it would be best just to leave as is.”
Sam was right I was fully into my female persona and I really didn’t want to upset our budding relationship. It felt so right to be with another woman who I could relate to as a woman. Maybe I even could get to meet her daughter. We arrived and met Hank and Sally at the steak house and had a wonderful time. Sally I conversed like old friends and it gave me a warm feeling inside. All to soon we were heading back to Sam’s place but I still had that wonderfully feeling of sister ship that had developed between Sally and I.
