Missed The Eclipsse
Due to clouds. I hope Cathy finds all sorts of dormice. Spent nearly a month in Europe last spring and summer. The solar farms were present everywhere. I also noticed a huge number of roof top solar panels. I hope every little bit helps. Our journey to energy efficiency begins with taking the first step.
Portia
Tricky business
proving dormice are there from the sounds of it. I am willing to be the owner will do something obnoxious. Wonder if he would sell the property?
Trish sounds like a Renaissance lady, even at her age. Wonder if she caught the blood moon? I hope so, but I suspect it was way too late for her.
Would liked to
have watched the rugby but i am a very nervous viewer where England are concerned, Given the result i suppose my cowardice was justified , Now Englands only hope is to beat the Aussies , Not an easy task at the best of times !. Loved they way the royal family diplomatically divided their support, The picture of Harry looking at his brother when England were finally beaten is an absolute classic...
Kirri
Slacker Simon.
Neglecting Danni to watch rugby Simon? There will be plenty of time to watch television when the girls have grown up and left home which will happen faster than he imagines. On the other hand instead of solar panelling the farmhouse maybe Tom can get the university involved with their (I assume) free roof space and car parks to help the girls to have a world worth living in when they do grow up.

Solar panels are popping up
Solar panels are popping up around here like weeds. Still, they are way too expensive for the average person to purchase. If each residence had the appropriate number of panels to ensure they particular energy needs; you would immediately have the local, county and state and most likely federal governments complaining they are getting their "fair share" because they have lost tax money coming in.
I hope Cathy and Helen can come find enough Dormice to "cut the landowner off at the knees", he does seem like a true jerk and I believe he would not be opposed to trying something underhanded to get back at the two of them.
Maybe, it if that happens then Cathy should pull out the big guns, namely her married name.
Nope, more likely the utility will want to raise rates
Ironically, if demand falls too low, it will cut into profits and the utility will demand to raise rates and the consumer would not benefit from their solar as much. Nothing like corporate greed.
Saw the eclipse.......
In upstate New York. It was shortly after 11:00 PM for us.

The eclipse.
It was a lovely eclipse from where we stood. Slap bang in the middle of the isle of dogs.
Cathy's also quite right about solar panels being placed on building roofs. Urban planning should consider the idea that all new-builds should have their roofs orientated south and pitched to forty-five degrees to maximise solar panel potential should the owner consider installing same at some later date if not during the build.
My wilder fantasies imagine Boris's sheltered, cycling skyways having solar panels for roofs. Now there's a potential earner and saver. Miles and miles of solar panels wherever new raised cycle-ways are erected. (Careful Bev, now you're letting that imagination run riot - again!)
Well we can all dream cant we?
Still lovin' it Ang.
