“So what’s got you upset? Aside from just seeing her?”
“She’s gone back to Peters.”
“Changed her name, eh?”
“Yeah”
“I don’t suppose that’s too big a surprise, although the timing does seem a bit sudden. Is that what’s bugging you?”
“Yes, at least partially. I had built up in my mind that there was a chance we could make some progress toward reconciliation, but once I found out about the whole name business, I said I couldn’t stay and left.”
“I think I can understand that. And if she’s thinking clearly, I’d bet she can as well.”
“That’s the thing, I’m not sure what she’s thinking. And the other thing that’s bothering me, is she isn’t looking well.”
“Now that could be your imagination. Your subconscious looking for something that isn’t there. And even if what you’re saying is true, maybe it’s just the flu or something. As much as she’s been traveling, it’s bound to have worn down her resistance quite a bit.”
“True”
“Listen Dave, you hang in there. If anyone can make their way through this, it’s you. Just give it time. Everything will work out.”

Here I was, worrying about how Juliette has been dealing with everything that’s been going on, and I come home to find Drew; well, maybe I should say Gaby, sitting on the stairs in her mother’s things, in such an upset state! At this moment in time what my child is wearing is of little importance. What matters is my youngest is in pain, and I have to do something…anything…to make that pain go away.

“It’s alright…everything will be okay…I love you so much…shhh…don’t cry…I’m here now…” Dave sat there on that landing, holding his child, for who knows how long, just trying to comfort her with his words and his touch. When finally the distraught youngster began to calm somewhat, he helped her to bed, tucking her in, then picking up a blanket for himself and sitting down in a chair at her bedside, just in case his presence would be needed again.

“Night Drew, sleep tight.”

“Night Dad.”

“All in good time?”, I repeated. “This is most definitely NOT a good time. Frankly, my dear doctor, your stalling is really getting on my nerves.”

“So I can tell, my dear...”, he began.

“And would you stop calling me ‘dear‘” I interrupted, “like I am some helpless... woman.” I fairly spat out the last word. “I am not a woman, and I am most certainly not helpless. Let me reword my previous questions in a format that you can hopefully understand: Why have you done this to me?” I actually managed to work some menace into those last seven words, letting him know that my patience was rapidly approaching its end.

Joanie and Leah meet a fan, get a "ride" from Jay and indulge in more surfing. A secret of Leah's family is revealed. The mommy bug bites Joanie again as does her inability to stay out of the limelight. The girls have lunch in Boston, Miki meets the smilodons and the Sabers. Joanie has suprises at Whateley, learns of Tom and Tina's mom's progress and goes to Boston to finish up for NOVA.

Jamie meets Megan for lunch.

Chapter 10

I had a hard time sleeping Thursday night as I was so excited thinking about my meeting with Megan. I usually wake up on my own but my mother had to wake me on Friday morning.

"Come on sleepy head. Get ready or you'll make me late."

I was initially very foggy but then I remembered my approaching lunch date with Megan. Could I really call it a date? Did she think of it as a date? I was immediately awake.

Synopsis:
Jamie is caught wearing his mother's pantyhose on the last day of school. His mother gives him an unusual option to avoid punishment for dishonesty.

Chapter 1

It was the last day of school--8th grade that is--and when I arrived home at a quarter-to-three I wanted to celebrate. My sister Julie, who was two years older, was staying overnight with a friend. My mother wouldn't be home from work until at least six and my father, whom I only vaguely remembered, had deserted us years ago to pursue whatever he was pursuing.

Two boys shipwrecked on a tropical island make a series of strange discoveries while a mysterious force slowly transforms them into beautiful girls.

Pardon for the delay in getting this chapter posted, but somehow Real Life reared it's head and has had me too busy to do any writing for a while. Hopefully once the fall season is upon us, I can get back to writing again. I have not ended this series, so please stay tuned.

I woke up entwined with Meredith. It was a glorious start to my second day of Rush week. Getting to see the other houses was really cool and I liked that, despite the country music. I was actually glad that Nadia had managed to arrange for me to do this. It was certainly an eye opening experience.

I hugged Meredith and extracted myself from her embrace. My bladder had woken up and it was a bit urgent. Being in her arms was wonderful but some things were too important to put off. I really needed to pee and slowly wound myself out of her arms.

“Caitlin, there is a problem.”

I blanched a little at that. What the hell had happened? I sat heavily on my bed. “What?”

“One of the girls has stated that she has a problem with you. She says that she doesn’t feel safe in the house anymore since you are here. She says she is worried about you peeking at her in the shower and possibly doing something. There is a house meeting going on right now about it. I already told Nadia my vote if it comes to it. I am sorry.” Gwen came up and hugged me. I didn’t know what to do, so I sat there, numb.

I was a little disoriented when I woke up. Everything looked different and I wasn’t sure where I was. I felt someone lying next to me, their body warm and semi-snuggled. I turned my head and saw Meredith. I smiled at that point and kissed her on the forehead. I think I was really in love with her. I think I had certainly proved that I would do anything for her. Meredith had been one of the main reasons I now looked like I did and was living the life that I was. But I also had to admit that, in a way, I was happy.

Chapter 9

The sun was really warm on my back as I lay there on the back lawn of the house. I was propped up on my elbows and reading one of the magazines that I had been assigned. I wasn’t keen on articles on how to please my man, or many other things but I was sure there was some sort of purpose for all of this. At least I hoped there was. As long as they didn’t test me on “20 ways to please your man in Bed” I would be fine.

Chapter Two: Adjustments

Jason Drake had just been through a rather traumatic experience. He had been out with some of the guys from work, celebrating his engagement to Christine Felix. Then things got annoying. Chris and her old mentor Cassandra had taken him out of there, but the damage was done. Chapter One: Awakenings

Jason woke slowly. There was an ache in his body and his head was pounding. There was a feeling of wrongness as he slowly fought his way to consciousness. He went to wipe the detritus of sleep from his eyes, and became aware of a problem. His hand was manacled up and away from his body.

Moments after his fact made itself known, its implications percolated into his awareness, and alarm chased the remnants of sleep from his mind. Shaking his head to clear his wits he took stock of his situation.

Paul was your typical waste of skin cruising through life. If you asked his mother to describe him, she would tell you he was intelligent, hansom, and the biggest underachiever she had ever met. Paul was going absolutely nowhere. He filled his days with a dead end job and his evenings with television and marijuana. That was, of course, before THEY came looking for the “Guardian”.
