I just wanted everyone to know my sister (she adopted me when I started to transition) is going to the Army Basic training Tuesday, and while I am terribly proud of her, I am scared and sad at the same time. I have my many ups and downs as we are very close and we have been inseparable for 6 or 7 months. I am amazed at the openness and acceptance of this younger generation. I have received so much support from so many 20-30 year olds, and while females are more quickly to accept me, many 25 - 35 year old men have defended me when others were verbally tearing me down.

Caster Semenya is a woman --- and a man.

SYDNEY (AP) - World 800-meter champion Caster Semenya of South Africa has male and female sexual organs, the Sydney Morning Herald said on Friday, posing an ethical and political quandary for athletics' ruling body.

Semenya's reported condition could have grave medical implications.

The Herald said extensive physical examinations of 18-year-old Semenya ordered by the IAAF have shown she is technically a hermaphrodite.

A little over a year ago, I read a story that captivated me. That story was "Tragedy of the Spirit". The Authoress was a friend whom I met years previous. Mellissa, She was a wonderful friend whom had a demeaner of strength and determination I have only seen a few times in my life. When I read "Tragedy" the first time I was overcome with raw emotion and sadness as to how the human spirit can be wrecked by such sensless acts of violence towards children, let alone human beings. I would never had imagined what Mellissa went through until I read her story.

Today I'll have to think of how I didn't spend the holiday, too seem that I have a life, but I really just don't .. oh well happy happy god's another false front to the people at work. When John Philips goes to college it is the single biggest achievement of his life. Orphaned at a young age he is managing to pay the expensive college fees with the help of an aged benefactor. He moves into a house off campus which he is sharing with three beautiful young women with whome he gets along famously. Studying hard to make a future career for himself and having secured top grades in his first semester everything seems to be going amazingly well, however as fate would have it John's benefactor dies intestate after just his first semester. With no funds coming in the college tells John it will grant him a small bursary for his fees due to his high grades but that he will have to find a means of keeping and feeding himself. In the middle of a recession and with no money John turns to his friends and house mates Susan, Pamela, and Cindy for help. At first he baulks at their novel idea for him to earn some money which would involve him working as a girl but eventually gives in as he has no other choice and this sets him on a road to self discovery he never would have dreamed of taking.....

Last Night There was a Shooting

Last night a man clad in black entered one of the local GLBT centers in Tel-Aviv in the midst of a youth group. The man started shooting everywhere and killed 2 teens and injured 8 more, The man managed to escape.The shooting wasn't random, The place he went to was well known as a GLBT support place and was located in a side street near two of the busiest streets in Tel-Aviv .

I suddenly recalled a story that started sometime in the past few months, about a guy who is asked by his sister to allow himself to be magically turned into a girl so s(he) can bear the family heir. Kind of like a JulieO story but I don't think it was. I do remember some strong discussions about the brother being manipulated by his family and his sister's family, but I just can't recall the name or author. Does anybody remember it?

This has to be the worst day ever. I start out by running late for work with no time for breakfast. I'd been kept awake all week by strange dreams, and today it caught up to me. I underwhelmed a valuable client, my boss and some co-workers during a really important presentation because I felt so distracted. All day I just couldn't focus on my work, and every time I tried my thoughts wandered back to those dreams.

Here is a link to an article on CNN where Scientist have been using the dye from blue M&M's to help repair/rebuild spinal cord injuries. The one major side effect from the treatment is that your skin turns blue for a period of time.

Many authors present "serial chapters" over a long period of time, and/or at irregular intervals. Due to many different styles of writing, it is sometimes difficult for 'readers' to determine when a particular story is complete and that no additional chapters will be forthcoming. At the end of each of each posted chapter (or at the end of an installment which contains multiple chapters) it should be clearly marked "To be Continued" or "The End". That way there would be no question, by anyone, about the status of a story.

You know this will problem go down as an idea that might have been. Usually I only remember having dreams when I change my meds. Which is odd because I haven't; Hopefully is not another down ward spiral into depression. Other wise I don't think I ever dream. Anyway Life at this point had just been one disappointment after another. Being a foster child buyt not put into the system bause of being an embarsisment to the family I lost count of how many relatives i'd been bounced to around the usa.

Has anyone else noticed a change in the way the voting box operates. Until recently, if I had not yet logged in, the box would say "Login" (or "Voted" if I had previously done so). Clicking on "Login" never worked because it took me off to an error message page, but I could get to the login place and back to vote quite easily.
