Season of mists and melancholy

In this season of mists and melancholic musing I find myself looking inwardly and questioning my Inner Girl. Snuffling home from my daily Metropolitan slog I am met by my wife and soulmate who, peering into my red-rimmed eyes, sighs and declares "Oh, Dear -
Man Flu!"
I thought I was just being a little needy.
Huh!

I wish to thank Stanman for his excellent editing prowess on the remaining stories from Mellissa (prairie_girl_64. The time and patience upon which Stan dedicated his time to do a wonderful job is gratefully appreciated. In the jouney these past few moths since her passing, I have become accutely aware of her strong devotion to sharing her story. I am also aware of her ability to describe in detail her struggles and pain. Mellissa has noted in her journal(s) that she was/is not the best editor in the world.

Petticoat Detective Squad Adventures - The Mystery of the Girl in the Ga

Welcome

to the

Petticoat Detective Squad Adventures

This page is dedicated to Andrea, an author with an uncommon talent. She has penned a series of children's adventure stories in the style of Nancy Drew or The Famous Five, all revolving around a similar theme. In those stories, that theme was usually about the child, or children, confronting adversity and triumphing in the end... and so it is with The Petticoat Detective Squad.

Alas, these are all there are in the series, and there can be no more. Andrea was taken from among us. We will miss her great talent and her gentle spirit as exhibited in these elegant tales of naiveté and wonder.

These stories are posted with permission. All stories  © 1998 - 1999 Daphne, all rights reserved. Please contact David2Daphne@yahoo.com if you would like to know more about Andrea, or the Petticoat Detective Squad. These stories are presented just as they first appeared on "Daphne's Secret Garden." I have not changed anything except some minor HTML coding in order to get each story onto a single page.

These stories are written to depict a young boy's first innocent encounters with cross-dressing and his subsequent feelings. If the reader is seeking descriptions of explicit or adult sex then they will be disappointed because this sort of thing is not included here.

Return with me to the age of innocence and as a child, thrill in the mystery and adventure, as Andrea's stories come to life on these pages.

The Mystery of the Girl in the Garden

This tale concerns a young boy spending a holiday with his older girl cousin and favorite aunt. The children become obsessed with the mystery of the figure of a lonely girl who regularly appears in the garden of a nearby manor house. When our hero's cousin and a small group of school friends are invited to spend a couple of days staying at the manor to work on a school project, she is presented with the perfect opportunity to solve the mystery. To make her plan work, however, she must enlist her cousin's help and get him included in the party. The only problem is that the party must consist of girls only...

A tribute to a friend ......

I first want to praise all those writers and admin staff on BCTS for the excellent content which appears here. For myself, I knew nothing of this site until my friend Mellissa (prairie_girl_64) passed away. I was entrusted with looking after her estate and all her subsequent stories upon which she started and have yet to be completed and/or are completed and need editing.

I finally got a minute and got onto the site and noticed that Angharad had posted a new chapter of Charlotte. (BTW, Thanks for that. I know it has been anxiously awaited by many.) Seeing it caused a scary thought to pop into my often evil little mind. I posted a couple of weeks back and made a comment about her other story line which is ongoing.

I recently came across this amazing guitarist that I thought I'd share with you all. The music starts a bit slow but when the guitar gets going it's fantastic. Just click the picture to full screen and watch his hands and fingers move over the instrument.

I realise that the enjoyment of music is a personal thing and it might not appeal to everyone but I really enjoyed this peice.

Naruto's Rebirth (a Naruto FanFic)

This is a serial story with TG content embedded in it with a healthy dose of action and drama. I created it with the intent that it would stand on its own as a story without the TG part becoming the typical shopping trip after a magic poof and girl's night out storyline. I admit there is a shopping trip... oh drat. I suppose it might just be like every other one afterall :)

I love BigShelf a lot and hope to not let anyone down with the quality of the writing.

Petard Reference in Novel

I'm reading Elizabeth George's Inspector Lynley novels as I liked the TV series, and it's been long enough since I've seen the shows and my brain is small enough that I don't remember who done it. Anyway, one of the suspects said, "Hoist with my own petard" ("Payment in Blood" Ch 13) in response to being questioned about a previous lie that had been exposed.

A Good Question

On Thursday I was sitting with my friend Anne in a pub drinking a milky coffee, Anyway, after we had managed to catch up on what we had being doing over the past two weeks since we last met, the subject changed to what we were reading at the moment. I mentioned that I was just finishing off 'The Lost Continent' by Bill Bryson and was just going to start 'Labyrinth' by Kate Mosse. I admitted that I was sidetracked as usual by reading some stories from this site, when she asked me a good question.

I can't believe I forgot to do laundry yesterday. I really needed my suit for this interview, but that ketchup stain ain't coming out of those pants any time soon.

Maybe they won't notice this is my girlfriend's suit. The color is neutral, cut's alright...

Looking for new comments is addicting. They fell off all too quickly, so I grabbed a story from my [author] directory (there's more where those came from) and posted it. As a bonus, I think I figured out how to properly post the HTML stuff.

Well, sort of. It didn't like my indented paragraphs. Oh well.

A Toxic Adventure

This is a MORFS satire that I originally posted in the MORFS forum. It is based on an earlier forum entry (What would you choose http://morfs.19.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=173 ) I used the opportunity to poke fun at some of my fellow authors and even a significant other.

Alexandra and the Horrible, Awful, No Good, Very Bad Day.

After taking way too long of a break, I just had to answer Rasufelle's Writers' Challenge. The silly little ditty just wouldn't give me any peace until I wrote it down.

transgendered love

transgender love

love is something different for someone that
is transgendered, it is unlike any other love
it is about aceptance, understanding

it is about being with someone that can not
only see you for the person that you are on
the outside, but the person you are on the
inside

it is about understanding and looking past
what you was born as.

I use BBEdit from Bare Bones Software, possibly the best programmer's editor for the Mac, but have recently learned that they introduced a freeware product they call TextWrangler, which has a considerable subset of BBEdit's functionality. It has spellchecking, of course, and can easily accommodate American, British, Candian, and Australian versions of English using downloadable dictionaries.

My spouse and I were out walking our dog a couple of days ago. As we approached an intersection, a cyclist rode up on the opposite side of the street, stopped, and promptly fell over (fortunately onto some grass). She said that she was alright and had forgotten that her shoes were attached to the pedals. I know about tow clipless pedals.

Feeling gloom & lonely

In the last few weeks I came to deal with a major issue in my life : my small amount of friends . As far as I can remember I only had 5-6 friends and one or two really good ones. The problem is that I always feel that in some ways I am never one of the group , even with my friends ( when were around other people) it seems to me like everybody is giving me the odd look.

Possession

Chapter 1

“Where are we going to get another person?” Pam Nolton asked Connie White. They were in the building cafeteria after work and had only 2 hours to come up with another woman to make the thirteen required for their Wicca Ceremony — but the ceremony was being held the same night as the full moon celebrations and all the Wicca friends had plans made for weeks.
