The Faithful, North African and Middle Eastern Islamic nations, are plotting to seize the oil resources of the Middle East. By controlling the earth's oil and its major trade routes, they plan to bring the world to its knees. Then, when the entire world is kneeling, the Faithful of Allah will read to them from the Koran, preaching the message of Islam, the True Faith. The Faithful will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. But how far will they go? And how many lives will it cost?

Synopsis: An elderly man, confined to a nursing home and often neglected by his children, wishes for one last holiday with his family.

Everyone's heard the expression, "Be careful what you wish for." You should also be careful HOW you wish for it.

Author's Note: The title for this series of stories reflects the view djinn have regarding their dealings with humans. They think of the granting of wishes as a game, with their goal being to twist wishes to their own ends at the expense of the person making the wish. As revealed in an earlier story, they call this game, "Wits and Wishes". Good wishes that have benefit only to those other than the wisher are exempt from tampering.

Chapter 5

Donna and I get some pretty strange looks as we walk into the IHOP together we’re both pretty filthy, there’s dried blood and dirt from the fight and the ashes and torn clothes and if that wasn’t enough Donna’s holding my hand.

The few rednecks without the brain power to just let people be people are sort of choking on their remarks because yeah…go ahead be a redneck homophobe to an officer of the law.
