Wow, police are helpful for a change
guess it's the "old boys" network in action.
Wonder why Cathy couuldn't find him? Of course she didn't find Julie either until she saw her on the bonfire. Pump that energy into Tom, Cathy still needs her daddy!
Simon was surprisingly helpful. Especially considering the way Cathy insulted him. I guess they both understood that they were joking.
... and of course Cathy was proven right about Diana although I don't understand why she'd be heading for India with a stolen jewel. Perhaps there is more to the story... of course she nearly killed Tom.
We once got a Police escort.
Our baby was choking and we were doin over 100 in a 40. As soon as he stopped me I ran back and told him. He just told me to follow him. That was 1968, now days, I wonder how it would go. I'm white, maybe OK.

Easy As Falling Off A Bike pt 1250
WOW! Plain to see why Tom was off of Cathy's radar.

Waterworks
I hope the waterworks doesn't short circuit the blue light
Phew!
So it looks as though the old bat is the primary suspect in the murders of both her husband and the chap who visited her house - at least she bothered to tell the local police where Tom was.
Speaking of Tom, a quick research of UTIs reveals they're normally cleared up with a short course of antibiotics - and the kidney trouble may be related to the UTI. I'd imagine the main things he needs now are fluids and antibiotics, to get his system back up to scratch, plus several days of rest. Unless BLH intervenes, it'll probably be a week or two before he's ready to be discharged; but once his UTI clears up they may be able to get him transferred to the QA.
Meanwhile, my contribution to the silly statistics: the story's been running for 3 years, 6 months, 2 weeks and 3 days.
There are 10 kinds of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't...
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
Will we be hearing any
Will we be hearing any apologies from Simon and Tom for how they treated Cathy when she informed them of what she felt about "lady di"? I can't capitalize her title and name, because she doesn't deserve it. I do hope that Tom has enough strength in his body to respond to Cathy and the Blue Light when she applies it to him, as I certainly don't want to see him passing on and out of the story. He and Cathy are too interconnected now as Father and Daughter and he also being a Grandfather to all the children.
I was thinking
that Tom needs to stay alive at least so he can apologise to Cathy. Of course in this case, she'll be gracious and not force it... just make him promise to let her take care of him.
"Daddy, please get well"
I can imagine how crushed she is to see Tom in such condition. I know he will go some time but, "Not Today", please.

Blue light...
...expediting blue light? Nice to see the police being helpful for a change, and here's hoping that Cathy will be able to help Tom get better, quickly.
Thanks A+B+I (Bread, Stew and Rice): nice to receive a bumper edition to mark the milestone of 1,250 Bikesodes.
Well, it looks like this particular plot line is just about at an end, and it would be good to get back to what passes for normal around here—although I guess it won't be too long before there's another dramatic occurrence and we're all clinging to figurative cliffs, willing Cathy et al. on.
Every once in a while I take a look at the Table of Longest Novels where Easy As Falling Off A Bike with just over 1.7 million words would currently rank eighth overall, or fifth for works written predominantly in English. I note that there's a small cluster of works at around the two million mark, and I'm selfishly confident that these be surpassed in the not-too-distant future.
There's still the matter of a wedding blessing, and it would be good to see Stella and Gareth settling down together. Oh, a PhD for Cathy might happen, too.
Thank you, Angharad: I'm sure there must be times when you wonder why you bother, but rest assured you have a great many supporters in disparate parts of the world who are just pleased that you do.
Plotful Story
Bike Resources
Bike Resources
Yeah, but plot lines need to be tied up
... especially the one where Cathy felt she had to go ahead and leave the house. So what happens to the old slag is what everyone is waiting for. At this point I do not know if Tom will survive as she was directly warned off from staying. I wonder if she was nudged to leave because she would have objected to Tom's support of her and would have gotten in danger as the Di seems pretty ruthless though she for some reason relented and told of Tom's location. It happened only because she was caught though. One would suspect she would not lifted a finger if she had not been caught.

Well that's good news.
I almost said thank God for that but, - well, some of us may have an issue with God.
Should we be prejudging Diana?
Methinks not. Let's wait and hear the whole story, she might not have ene been responsible for the jewel being in her luggage; who know's?
Good chapter Angie mainly because it brought good news.
Still lovin' it.
Love and hugs.
Beverly.
Growing old disgracefully.
I guess...
I guess it helps to be on a first name basis with the plod - sometimes.
Simon does, sorta, have room to gripe about the timing of the phone call. Though, had they been 5 minutes later, they might not have caught the police and got that nice "blue light" escort. :-)
Thanks,
Anne
So nice
to see Tom back with his daughter, Nice also to see the lovely(not)Lady Dawes getting her just desserts, Can't think of a nicer place for her to spend the next few years , I 'm sure she will get on famously with all the rats and other assorted lowlife she will find there....

Escorts to hospitals
Quite a few patrol officers can be simpathetic to people rushing off to a hospital. It has also been my experience that as long as you show respect to the officer who pulled you over they will let you off with a warning. I have been pulled over about 7 times in the last 15 years and been let off each time with only a verbal warning.
I also know better than being disrespectful to German police. They carry submachine guns in their patrol cars. They tend to shoot first and ask questions later. Or at least did when I was stationed in Germany in the early 80's.
Hope the blue light special comes through again.
Tom is going to need all the help he can get.
poor Tom, sucked in by a skirt at his age
Simon is quite the amateur rugby player isn't he ?
Cathy's chance to blue light family for a change.

Oh Tom, you have to live to.
Oh Tom, you have to live to. eat your words and apologize to the woman who has saved your life more than once.
Like it was said in the old Mike Hammer books, "lost your over a skirt, apiece of quim, thinking with the wrong head again" ?
