And so it was two full days in Paris, in a small hotel near Guy Moquet. This was real Paris, not a swanky hotel by the river or a tourist convenience seemingly built out of Lego, but a proper family-run place with character, quirks, inconveniences and incredibly thin towels.

I’m so happy the rest of the day. Actually blissed out is the right term probably. I’m sure I looked at our/my/our wedding license of 20 or 30 times. I’m sure I was driving everyone nuts too.

I did get the two pans of my cinnamon rolls out and iced for daddy to take with him. “One pan’s for Angie and Hunter and the others for the nurses in the ER who saved my life.” I know, I’ll have to make more because there’s the people in ICU who kept me alive and cared for in my eight day nap and there’s the Oncology dept. that’s helping Taylor and me.

I took him through the whole story from the beginning. He didn't stop me once, just sat there and took notes on a little notepad. He changed pages a lot, I think he must have filled the whole pad!

I shook my head, "If I was really that brave I would have broken out of there a lot sooner, instead of giving in to my aunt and dressing and acting like a girl."

The guys stay with me as Constable Mitchell calls the tow truck. The guys get ready too Eli is going to stay here with his boys and look after our places and Brandon and the rest of the guys go and get their stuff on and Their motorbikes to come into town with us. I catch a ride in the cruiser with the Constable as he orders the tow truck to be taken right to Armstrong insurance. He does smirk at the guys following us through town seven big guys in leather and denim on big motorcycles rumbling through town.

And life carried on. I needed new bras by now, as I was steadily expanding my attributes. Not hugely so, at 35, but they still pleased me, and Geoff seemed to like them.

I sit in my truck looking at the pictures with the tire tracks and the casts the guys had done. I got the report on the tires and everything last night. It’s one of the few things that wasn’t hard. I scanned the photo into the computer and sent it to several service providers that contract out for us. I knew the truck was olive green from paint rub away from the flower boxes they smashed at Sam Chase’s.

Sam-

The guys have several tents up and there’s tarps over a lot of stuff. They all smile when I come into the garage and the guys that were sitting get to their feet. I liked that it’s really old school gentleman stuff, heck I learned all that stuff in the forces. It’s a standard thing for guys when we’d be at a dress uniform function. Now that the slipper’s on the other foot, I’m liking the treatment.

And so it went, week by week, as my life went on. Real life, that is, in two senses. Firstly, this was my real life, at last, as the work re-birthday card had declared. Secondly, real life is not like a cliffhanger film plot, or cheap novel.
