Before I get into that you should know a bit about my background.

I was raised in a fairly normal urban neighbourhood. Was enrolled into self defence classes and achieved a black belt purple strip by age seventeen in a martial art that has been lumped in under the general guise of Mixed Martial Arts now so the belt means almost nothing.

Angela and Meredith immediately rose from the couch, though I sat there, mouth agape until Angela nudged my shoulder. I climbed to my feet and leaned into her, wrapping my arms around her waist. She laid an arm around me and gave me a partial hug.

Chapter 3.

a little warning, chapter 1 may be a little dry, because of exposition. But I hope that can be fixed in the next chapters.

Once they go to back room, the witch closed the door. Melissa could barely see anything at all until the witch turned on a light switch near the wall. The room was mostly empty, except for a few boxes along with plenty of cobwebs and dust. It was about as creepy as the rest of the store, Melissa decided.

“You are quite the good little sub”, the witch commended. “I’ve seen you in action. If you can survive what I have in store for you tonight, you can have your little witch back. But be forewarned this is not going to be an afternoon of Tiffany’s childish games for you”.

A bully has a bad day. (He also gives others a bad day; this story isn't very nice.)

I took a deep breath as I was lead into the nurses office. The minute I entered into the room, I felt the tiny hairs on my arm stand up as the smell of antiseptic filled my nose. It was nauseating to say the least as memories of my stint in the IC of UMC came flooding back. My palms starting sweating and chill passed over my shoulder. Slowly I closed my eye and shivered again.

Chapter 1: To Be

The last class of the day and it had to be the one I hated most. I didn't hate it because I wasn't any good at, far from it, my grades were excellent. It's just that it was so boring.

I'm not quite sure how best to continue telling this story. There were so many parallel streams of my life set in motion after my birthday, each of them so separate from each other that they almost felt like they were happening to different people at the same time like some weird version of synchronicity.

Caution added for references to rape and suicide - there's nothing graphic here but they are part of the story.

Chapter Three: RIP Candy Cane.

Becky led Candy out the police station and over to a waiting car. Brad helped Becky and Candy get in the back before he got in the front next to the driver. Brad gave the driver directions and they were soon driving away.

The car pulled up outside a Victorian looking house that had the remains of a sign saying it use to be a boarding house at some point in its past. Becky opened the door and walked right in.
