(The idea for this was inspired by Laika. Who thought maybe a look at some of the other people and such who lived up on Old Haven Road might be something people might like. This is a story about two of those people.)

I’m on my second smoke and my third coffee out in front of the lobby as my guys start coming back in from doing a scan survey of town. It seems like a hundred years ago since I’ve been here, been home.

I look at Bishop. “Okay get everyone over to the Hotel and order some food we’ll go over things there. Bishop…Get Shaker to start drawing up the circles in the convention room.”

Slurping back the tea Rall stared at the sword. “We need to talk I think.”

Chapter 4

I watch Brandy doing the dishes and I get up to help her. There’s a lot of my things here now too and she opens up every cupboard and we sort things. It doesn’t sound important but this is hugely soothing to me. This wasn’t my home, this was her home but my home had been violated and things had come to pass that as so very new to us knowing one and other we are now living together.

Tracy and I were in her family room with her parents. We were watching an old Esther Williams movie on Turner Classic Movies. Tracy and I were in the love seat, doing our best to occupy the same space, and her mom and dad were on the couch to our right. We were one big happy family.

Raw naked fear and heart thumping adrenaline.

I guess kind of is a good grasp of just the feeling that seeing the three hundred or so yards of ancient or twisted forest just exploding into chunks, splinters, sawdust and fire. I stare at it like seeing a terrorist bomb going off.

It’s been two days since Cass said she’d move in with me. It’s been a busy time with getting the house ready for Christmas and moving things around and tossing out more stuff or putting it my garage for storage.

Brandon and Ryan, Steve and Bobby have been great fixing up my garage and stuff since it was really kind of getting old and there were things falling apart inside of it. Some new beams, new shelves and fixing up dad’s old work bench and even getting in space heaters to redo the old floor in there with a new one of set bricks in concrete.
