Chapter 31

I’m curled up with my back to the corner of the couch watching raven play with tears in my eyes as she’s playing something she wrote for me.

Again…

There’s parts where I’m staring right into her eyes and I’m not sobbing but the tears are flowing as hard as they ever have in my life.

I can’t stop myself if I tried mouthing. “I Love You.” to her as she plays.

Raven’s crying too but she keeps playing…we do that, cry, hurt…play…sometimes playing that music is the only thing you can do.

She stops and looks at me.

Editors Note:Sorry this weeks chapter is late but I was traveling all day yesterday by train and was in no fit shape to post this last night

After the interval, or chapter 5, the author returns to her keyboard having enjoyed a couple of weeks’ “R&R” away from it all. Some development of the storyline has been conceived in her mind and she hopes her readers enjoy getting further into life in this sleepy, but quietly boiling, English country village! I’m not going to go into too much details about the shopping excursion only that there was a lot of kissing. More than a few looks from people both comfortable and uncomfortable with us doing that and even though I should be taking things easy I did spend a lot of time on my feet and alone for some of the shopping.

I very well couldn’t buy Cass’s presents with her around now could I.

And I really did a Betty and Wilma on my Visa.

I was due a few days holiday to be taken before the end of the year. It was already mid November and the nights had closed in. I did not want to fly off to foreign parts and the papers were full of adverts for short winter breaks. A city rather than a remote rural hotel made more sense and I chose Newcastle because I had never been there and it seemed to offer plenty to do and see even if the weather was wet and cold. I booked a good city centre hotel and decided to travel up by train.
