Chapter 2

*This starts along the time of chapters 13-14.*

I’m waking up after being really spaced out…again. I hate this, I hate freaking out and acting like I’m a fucking psycho but getting turned into a girl by a four armed mad scientist….and as bad as it was it was worse, I was a fat chick.

I hate saying it, I hate thinking it’s so bad but I was already fat, fat and lower middle class so there was really shit I could do about it. Yeah, yeah I know exercise and diet.

Fuck off.

"Who's the cute guy over there?" Nikki asked.
T. J. and Sarah's heads swiveled abruptly to follow Nikki's line of sight to a good looking guy with a golden tan and long blonde hair loosely tied back. He had a sexy surfer kind of vibe going for him.
"A little less obvious next time?" Nikki rolled her eyes.
"New kid, just transferred in." T.J. answered. "He's in my Biology class. Dreamy isn't he?"
Nikki smiled as the new guy's eyes fell across her and her friends. "He's gorgeous." Nikki agreed. "He have a name?"

Richard is in love with Alyssa, his classmate. Alyssa is stunning. Richard is not. He'll do anything to get her to speak to him. In fact, it's her that makes the first move, but not as he intended!

I had been told that she was a witch, and I believed them. That's why I was here, standing at her front door. A cold sweat broke out on my face as I tried to force myself to ring her bell. I hesitated for a moment, started to hover my finger over the button and felt myself falter again. Suddenly, the door swung open and the woman faced me.

She and I were about the same height, neither of us being very tall. She was slender, graying and still pretty good looking for a fifty-ish woman. Our eyes met and she smiled and stepped aside, with a wave of her hand she bid me to enter.

My Super Secret Life…Villain.

I’m a Villain.

Sure, right.

No, I’m a criminal, with powers…hence villain.

I’m called Rook, that’s my handle and I was thirteen when my meta powers blossomed. Dad was drunk, and he was beating the shit out of my mom and was coming for me and something went snap, crackle, pop in my head.

I’d thrown my hands up to ward off the blows and he hit something bounced off and freaked out. He grabbed a bat and kept trying to kill me. Felt him hitting the nothing stuff, he’d break through and miss me as I ran around the trailer and of he’d hit me and…well if you’ve ever been baseball batted…you know.

If not…hey that’s a good thing.

I was a fairly happy 16 year old. Okay, my family wasn’t rich, and maybe my job was a bit less than completely satisfying, but I had my Dad’s old green 1979 Chevy Stepside, and a small loft apartment over my parents garage, so I thought was doing pretty well. I really had nothing to complain about.

While trying to locate them, he inadvertently stumbles into mortal danger on a very dark and quiet evening. Kendra Allen tried to use an ancient magic book to cast a spell, a book he had no right of possessing. I hate school uniforms.

4 months ago I didn't have a uniform. I had just graduated from middleschool, no fanfare, no ceremony just you have finished grade 6 here is your report card. I was also a normal male boy, loved soccer, wanted to learn about football, basketball, and softball. Girls were starting to look interesting in my classes. I never wanted to be one nor even had once thought about wearing anything remotely feminine.

The Dead Kid Returns: Chapter 4: Phase Two

Beth decided that it was time for Phase two of her plan to help the new kid. One Thursday, as they read together in the park, she asked, “Could we get together on Saturday? Maybe you could come over to my house?”

“Or I could come to yours.” She added.

“I’ll ask.” the new kid said softly.

The next morning, the new kid said to her, “You can come over Saturday, if you want to.”

“I do.”

The new kid gave her the address and a phone number, and then retreated a little.

Fran gave me a look as if she needed an answer and she wasn’t going to let it drop.

‘Fran, honestly I can’t be awful to Helen. She never did anything bad to me; she just thinks I’m not assertive enough.’

Chapter 14

My powered leap takes my up into the air and clearing nearly the fully city block. I’m starting to like the feeling too. It’s got almost this reverse bungee jump kind of thrill to it.

But that’s not the big deal right now. The big deal id the Silver Cross Bank and the cops hiding behind their cars as these three guys in exo-frames are loading ATM whole onto the back of a truck while this suit of power armor is providing cover fire.

Chapter 9

The rolling thrum of the grav sheer is running through of all of us like the breathing of some great unseen monster breathing down our necks. I’m reading scans on my section as thorough as I can I’m feeling the sweat building under my clothes and running down my spine.

It’s really tense and scary so quiet you can hear the sheer hitting the shields in what I imagine that waves would sound like.

Chapter 5

I couldn’t hide and I just stammered ‘Yes Miss’ in reply. She sat on the seat opposite scrutinizing me. I don’t know why I was so bothered since I’d left school years ago.

It seemed like yesterday and she spoke to me as if I was still in her class.

‘Robyn, what has happened to you? You are such a good looking boy so what have you done to yourself? Are you trying to look like a girl?’

What could I say. I was like a rabbit trapped in a car headlights. I couldn’t speak for a minute or so that felt like an hour.
