Caitlin is nervous about getting found out at the slumber party. She talks it over with Meredith and Rebecca, finally finding a way to better understand herself. But does she have it down enough in time for the party?

Here is a special chapter, since I am going on vacation starting Saturday. I hope you all enjoy it.

The sound of the rooster came a little too early for Charlie.

He eased between Samuel and Eli on the bed. He tried not to wake them, but he saw little Eli’s eyes open. He kissed his brother on the forehead.

“Go back to sleep,” he whispered.

He quietly got dressed. He looked over and saw Lucas and Robert. They were sound asleep.

The potato was delish, with oodles of tuna–so my mercury levels should be up to scratch, and the salad garnish was excellent; almost equivalent to a side salad. I washed it down with a ginger beer, which woke me up.

Chapter Twelve: Learning and plotting

Doctor Miller divided the use of elemental power into three components; the raw power itself (analogous to muscle strength), the automatic control (analogous to coordination), and processing (analogous to intelligence and/or idiot-savant skills). In my own case, the amount of weight I can move is power (moderate), my fine control is similar to coordination, and my ability to write or draw (translating a concept in my mind to the movement of the pencil) is intelligence.

We all piled into the minivan and headed for the mall. As we walked in, we saw a pair of teens with canine features holding hands. We smiled at them.

Chapter Five: New day, new hope

All too soon, Mom was waking me up. I groggily got out of bed and hit the shower. I dressed without comment in the clothes that Mom had laid out for me. I was about to whip us up a quick breakfast when Cindy came up and invited us to eat breakfast with them.

Sometimes, I want to ask 'Why me?' If I think too much about it, I start to feel the whine rising in my throat. I get ready to throw a pity party for myself. Even as the tears start to come, I realize that a pity party is the most expensive party that one can throw.

She always enjoyed checking him out, seeing what new items he might have. Pickles, mayo, lipstick. Ham, a couple of movies, and a cute bra and panty set.

"For my girlfriend," he would say if she asked, but in a town as small as theirs she knew better.

"That'll be fifty four seventy three." He paid her swiftly, and hurried to grab his bags.

"You take care now, Emily."
