I got in to the carriage of the tube, which was already pretty crowded, at the front of a large mass of people all trying to do the same thing. Standing room only, and not much of that. I flashed a quick smile at the man in front of me, before turning to take hold of a pole. More and more people pressed in after me and we ended up with everyone pressed against each other.

Katia has two fortnights back home near Worcester, with her parents, relaxing and trying to adjust to being a woman. She's been dealing with the effects of PTSD, but Malok has been able to help by making internal repairs to her mind, and being with her folk will help much.

On their first evening together, they are absolutely delighted when Nancy signs her will leaving all her fortunes to them when she dies. But wills have to be properly witnessed, and with Nancy's premature departure, someone has to witness her signature. Although the family resemblance is fortuitous, Nigel has reservations about the whole scheme. With just cause, it would appear.

This story is intended to be the pilot to a series. It was mostly written before the movie Avatar came out, and has no connection to the movie.
