I'm watching the Weather Channel's coverage of this latest hurricane and very worried about all our Sisters and Brothers who live in Florida, Georgia, South and North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia and further north.

To everyone in the affected areas, please, please, PLEASE, don't ignore evacuation orders. Get away from this monster storm as quickly as you can. It's affecting areas that were hit so hard in the LAST hurricane which will be even more vulnerable when this one hits.

News from Maddy!

So here I am - sat outside a restaurant in Nordlingen eating Gnochi Gorgonzola and drinking beer, wearing shorts and sandals as it's into the 20's c!

My stint as Nena, tour guide is 80% over as we fly home tomorrow. We've had a day doing the Roman Limes (think Hadrian's Wall but longer) around Aalen, yesterday we went down to the Donau for a Keltische visit and today has been the hillfort of Ipf before an afternoon here in the Ries crater at Nordlingen.

Yup, after an unexpected visit to see my cousin in Nottingham I have made it onto the interweb and I have put together some holiday snaps for you!

Maddison Kleeman Rose is a pretty normal Oklahoma 12-year-old. She enjoys school, she dances at the drop of a hat and she loves church. She also happens to be trans, which is why Maddie's life is anything but pretty normal.

So, here we are, almost at the end of August and I must admit that the heat has been on a couple of times the last week - not so much against the cold but to make sure its working before it does get cold.

Further to yesterday's missive i've had a busy time today. I spent the morning getting the meds I forgot i needed to collect on Saturday before shopping for some new bib shorts and other bits I need before I go to Austria in a fortnight.

Back home a lot lighter of purse I got down to the writing I should have done Saturday. It went okay, I got the chapter finished mid evening which gave me enough time to put together and format the second arc ready for Wednesday publication.

Well I've got back into gear, even managed a bit of writing after yesterdays ride!

Well everyone that attended seems to have arrived home in one piece. It might have been a little bijou in the numbers and the format was a little mucked about by the weather or as it turns out, non weather but first reports are all positive.

We had a nice meal on Friday evening, a chance to renew acquaintances and catch up on things in each others worlds.

I was talking to another post op MtF woman the other day, and her experience was the same as mine. They did the surgery, let me convalesce for several days and then wanted another $3000 to finish the job. I had no more money, so came home with no Labial lips. The woman I talked to did the same thing. I don't want to reveal the name of the surgeon here, but I will if you PM me.

With a name like mine, I could hardly avoid mentioning the great news that a Welshman has won the Tour de France! The only problem was that in Australia, the telecast ran until 2am most nights and 4am the final night! I confess I cheated and recorded the last two hours, but it was great to watch today. What a pity that they didn't play 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau' ('Land of my Fathers') at the closing ceremony, but with Geraint proudly displaying the Welsh flag, there was no doubt about where he came from.

Can you believe it, Gabycon 2018 is just two weeks away!

I need some help now, whilst I know when some of you will come it would be really useful to know when others will arrive - I need to sort out somewhere to eat for Friday and maybe Saturday and I need numbers.

So if you are intending joining us for all or even just part of the weekend please drop me a line.

The programme is coming together, i've got tea shops lined up, visits to Creswell Crags for the cave art, Thoresby Hall Museum and some of Gaby's old stomping grounds.

For anyone who has an address in the United Kingdom, please sign the petition to stop the culling of badgers. It's being done to supposedly prevent the spread of bovine TB, which is a serious disease. However, the science doesn't back up the killing of badgers and may make it worse by causing perturbation. This is the movement of badgers caused by change in the population through culling.

After a lot of deliberation and a bit of negotiating i'm able to announce that the 2018 Gabycon will take place on the weekend of August 11/12 based near Mansfield, Notts, England - Drew/Gaby's original stomping ground.

Hello and once again I have failed.

Well not failed as such but things have, once more, not exactly run to plan!

With the recent "bad news" coming from various levels of our "government", here is a step in a positive direction.

I only realised last night that my last news was somewhat innacurate. I did mention that i'm out doing a little ride up in't Dales tomorrow precluding a posting.

But I said there would be one on Wednesday but there won't. Back in January I booked up for a sort of history day trip to Calderdale, which is on Wednesday. So no Wednesday update but there is a possibility I might get online a different day.

In other news -

i'm one and a half chapters into the next Gaby book with an interesting and unexpected turn of events!

Just a reminder to anyone with plans to enter still, today is the final day of my Fairy Kiss-and-Tale contest! I'm working on the honor system here, so as long as you have your entry in by midnight your time (May 31 2018) we'll call it gravy.

We've had a lot of great entries, and I've already got plans for another contest here in July! Sadly I actually haven't finished my OWN entry for this one yet, though since I'm ineligible for the prize anyway it doesn't matter much :)

Yup, I know the new Gaby has only just gone live but tomorrow, the first of a two part Nena storyline will be released. A Global Christmas sees Nena and Den having to survive a last minute change of plans to take a party away for Christmas. I'll post links etc tomorrow once i've got it up.

I'm working up the next Trixiebell 'chapter', with any luck and a finished kitchen, you should get to see the fruits of that endeavour in about a fortnight. After that it's back to Gaby and Book 23!
