Chapter 19 - Counsel

The person on the other end of the phone didn’t even give me the chance to say hello first.

“Aradia. We need to talk.”

“Uh, hello? Who is this?”

“Hang on.”

The cordless handset suddenly shrieked loudly in my ear. “Gah!”

“Sorry. All phone lines at the Academy are being monitored by the military. We’re now secure.”

“How did you—oh.” Girl voice, check. Tone weirdly older than pitch, check. Able to do hacker stuffs, checkmate. It had to be Erica. But she was obviously sticking to using codenames. “Hi Fields.”

Not What We Expected by Tiffany B. Quinn The incoming text read: "Looking forward to lunch, sweetheart. We have reservations at Sullivan's for noon. Wear something nice but sexy. Please. We will find a way through this, I promise. Love you forever. XOXO" The message was from Tom and it was more intimate that I would have expected. Scrolling through her messages, I saw that this wasn’t the first such text. Her replies were equally as intimate. Sandra hadn't said anything to me about seeing Tom regularly again outside the office.

Chapter Six – The Verdict

Adele's case takes one final twist before the judge hands it to the jury for a verdict but it's after the verdict is rendered that the truth is revealed. It will be left for the reader to decide the true verdict.

Nodding in agreement with what Thomas and Will had already settled, but looking a little puzzled, Yew said, “I notice you didn’t even refer to the new womenfolk.”
Will gave a crack of laughter, and after looking reproachfully at him, Thomas said laughing, “Rowan, Gosellyn, Hazel and probably Siskin too are dealing with the women, and if you bethink yourself I’m going to argue with those four over who runs the Castle administration, Master at arms or no, you can have my resignation right now.”
Yew looked startled at first, but then admitted with a wry grin, “No, no, and I’m not man enough or mad enough to either.”

Chapter Five – You Can Bin Them or Keep Them

The trial takes a twist when a shocking revelation causes the judge to consider ordering a mistrial. Meanwhile Peter Duffy finds Adele alone in her office late at night and tries his luck with her.

Sandy Andros, of the Aero Airplane Company, has been working at Aero for about 5 years. Being 25, and not having lots of attributes of Maleness, like a big, muscled, hairy body, or having a beard to speak of, only being 5’6” tall, and a whopping 120 lbs, looks like, and is, a Geek. In fact, he looks a lot like Gillian Anderson, Agent Dana Scully of the FBI, despite being Male!

He is asked by several of the Women of his area to go to the Firms Halloween Party as Agent Dana Scully with someone else as Agent Fox Mulder, because there is a Costume Contest, and the girls think Sandy, and a handsome Fox duplicate will win!
Sandy finds out something new from this escapade! Can you guess what?

In this Second Part, Sandy and Paul have gone to the Aero Halloween Party, they won the Couples Category, and some other things happen to the two of them! Good Things! And things are leading up to something wonderful!

Chapter Four – ‘The Night Of’

The trial begins and Adele appears to have the upper hand until melody Summers takes the stand to tell the court what happened to her the night of the assault. The defence lawyer makes a reveal that puts Adele's case in jeopardy.

Chapter Three – Do You Love Me?

Transgender lawyer Adele and her cis female partner Celia are preparing to litigate a sexual assault case against four prominent businessmen. Adele's law firm would rather she didn't and they task her with bringing a new client on board using whatever skills she must. The new client provides Adele with some pertinent evidence for her case.

Mr. Dish was looking over the trucking report in his office when his bodyguard comes flying through the door. He lands crumpled up several feet inside his office. He reaches under his desk for his gun, as Kat comes walking in. She had two people in full body armor standing behind her.

Chapter 15 - Wisdom

One of the first things I did after Kami put me up in some fancy hotel near his club was to call Danielle. Her phone didn’t even ring, a recording kept repeating that all circuits were busy and to try again later.

Kami had recommended I get some sleep, but yeah that wasn’t going to happen. I was far too keyed up. Besides, without the circles in my bedroom acting as their usual anchor I might slip out of the world again.

Not What We Expected by Tiffany B. Quinn Despite Sandra's good intentions, I still had an uneasy feeling about Grandma's predictions. I wasn't sure why. After all, this ceremony would more than likely to be nothing more than an expensive waste of time. Just like all our other attempts. "Did you ask her how much we owe for her services?" I asked. "Oh, she said that wasn't necessary," she replied. "Being friends of Tom's, she thinks of us as family." In hindsight, that statement should have set off some warning bells for me.

Stella went inside the Police Station leaving Ethel to switch to the drivers’ seat.

She returned a few minutes later grasping a small piece of paper and got back into the car.

“They were very helpful about a possible place to stay but it is unlikely that there will be a train north tomorrow. Apparently, the line washed out earlier today after a landslide.”

Ethel gripped the steering wheel a lot tighter. Stella noticed this.

“I know that it looks bad but at least we have some wheels unlike those stuck at the Railroad Depot…”

“You are mothers to be.” Gosellyn had explained, “To the Folk, both you and your unbirtht are precious. Don’t be surpriest if you receive an offer of marriage from someone you have never met before, and don’t reject it out of hand. Say you will consider it, and then have spaech with one of us or a member of the Master at arms office if you need advice. We have a lot of men who loes their wife to the fevers a year over. Their year of mourning is now over, and many are seeking a wife and a mother for their children. Your pregnancy makes you very attractive and desirable as a wife to our men, and you will be well come to their families, kin, clan and kith. The Folk value a mother and her children.”

The girls took it in turn to doze until late afternoon. They’d found an old logging track that was suitable for the car and not axle deep in mud. It allowed them to hide out of sight but it also allowed then to keep an eye on the minor road off of which they were parked. Hardly a vehicle passed while the girls were resting. That suited them and their purpose perfectly.

As the sun went behind one of the hills, Ethel roused Stella.

“It is time doll.”

Stella laughed.

“Just like old times eh?”

“Not quite but remember the last time we were around here? You were the ‘Doll’ all right.”

“We have both changed a lot since then. The world has changed even more I’m afraid.”

“From what we are reading in the news, the boys back in Chicago don’t seem to think so…”

Chapter 11 - Choices

“Dammit August! Tell me where she is!”

Snow and wind assaulted the far corner of the cafeteria where August liked to eat quietly away from everyone else. Today that peaceful solitude had been bulldozed by a rather agitated young fae.

The plate of creamy chicken alfredo sadly offered no defense.

Katey and Jessica were sound asleep in bed when Katey’s cellphone starts ringing. She moans as she fumbles around on her nightstand for her cellphone. She finally finds it and pulls it down towards her.

“Hello?”

“Katey, we need for you and Jessica to get to the airfield as fast as you can. We have an emergency on our hands.”

Katey sits up in bed and shakes Jessica “okay, we're on our way.”

Jessica wakes up when she was shaken by Katey. She looks over towards Katey “why did you wake me up?”

28th of Towin Day 1

Chaunter beckoned Waxwing over to her and asked quietly, looking across the cabin at Flame staring at naught, “How is she?”
Waxwing was the closest they had to a healer, she’d had the emergency healing training, but she was no more skilled to deal with Flame than the others. “She has fully recovert from the deepcaltth, but she is still too deeply shockt by the loss of Irune to be reacht yet. Perchance, Gosellyn or Campion could reach her but…” Waxwing’s words trailed off as she thought of Flame, the young woman who had only just reached agreement with her wife Irune on the voyage north and who had lost her love within a tenner. “Ceël keeps spaeking to her. Neither of us is sure how much contact is being maekt, but Ceël keeps spaeking of Irune’s children and how much they will need her. Her eyes flicker when she hears the names of the children, but that is the only sign of contact so far.”

They came from outer space!
They wanted our women!
Well, almost…
