I felt my cheek bones starting to bloom with color as I peered toward the powdered blue dress that had been laid out upon the bed. Laying beside the dress was a pair of wrap up brown leather sandals. A long cord of matching powdered blue ribbon could also be found laying on top of the dress and finally the finishing touches of the whole outfit a rose colored slash could be seen laying on top of the dress. It was all too much.

After a bit, the plates are empty, and the table is covered in nothing but scraps and empty glasses. The food was undeniably good, and for the first time in what feels like forever, I feel full in a way that doesn’t come with the weight of stress or exhaustion.

As usual, I was up and dressed before Diana got out of bed. She said laundry would be done today, so I might as well go commando - no panties or bra, and no reason to tuck. I chose the white walking shorts and powder blue sleeveless knit top from Brenda's Dress Shop.

“Are you all right, Mum?”

“More than all right, by precious daughter. When you were playing, it reminded me of my wedding day. Where did you learn to play one of those organs?”

“Right here, right now, Mum. Basically, it’s just a more complicated version of what I played last night, but the music is a lot simpler, which allowed me to learn what it does. There’s a lot of buttons and knobs that make changes to the sound, but I didn’t want to touch anything.”

Part 1: County Clerk

On Monday morning, we got up together, showered, shaved, applied makeup, and dressed. I chose a white A-line dress with elbow sleeves, blue chest pockets, shoulders, and belt, and white sandals. Diana chose a multicolored swinging mini-dress.

Before we begin this is my second story so please bear with me as I learn and grow. I am not the best writer and my dyslexia doesn’t help with it lol. I appreciate the support of my previous story.

This story follows Sarah as she grows her salon and needs workers. An old friend from college visits, and they come up with an idea to help her fill the salon’s roster.

Willow was concentrating on the music. She was listening to the others as she played. The songs were a mixture of the album tracks, but with more of the live album content as they moved from ‘Child in Time’ to ‘Woman from Tokyo’. She glanced across to the others, to see Geoff with his eyes shut and mouth open. Gerry had a big grin on his face.

I took a deep breath as I peered out across the broad rolling pasture land. A gentle spring breeze caused the tall green grass to sway back and forth. Releasing my deep breath I peered up at the sky, the sky was filled with dark, iron gray clouds that held the promise of rain.

Book 2 in this series, and one of two direct sequels in the whole thing. Whether Jimmy wanted to or not, Peggy has made a new friend. I mean, how much trouble can girls really get into? Sounds like the newest Baker sister is about to find out.

“Oh, Kaida, here’s your… sash,” I say awkwardly, holding out the torn fabric to her.

Kaida blinks, taking it gingerly. Her eyes dart between the sash and me, her brow furrowed in confusion. “What happened to it?”

I glance away, rubbing the back of my neck. “He, uh… he tied me up with it. And then… well, he cut it off.”

The room erupted in audible gasps and loud murmurs following my mother's declaration.

I was stunned. How could I not be? My mother had just admitted to witchcraft.

Unlike my brother, I spent all my days with her. I was always with her except those times she left home to help bring babies into this world and care for ailing mothers. I was the one person that knew she wasn't guilty of such a thing.

Suddenly, a tendril shoots out faster than I can react, wrapping around my waist and yanking me off the sled. The ground slams into me hard, knocking the wind out of my lungs as the world spins violently.

"You wouldn't even have to play, you could just sit there, look pretty and cheer us on"

I could tell he was smiling. I sighed audibly. I'd only gotten rid of the girl jokes which had been a major part of my life all through adolescence. I've always looked like a girl. Still do. In fact, when Mikey first met me, he thought I was one.
 

John looked in the mirror and sighed heavily. “It’s never perfect,” he said to himself. He has lost nearly 20 pounds in the last five months, but it looked like everything came from his waist – which was great. Everyone wants a trim waist, right? The thing is, none of the weight loss seemed to come from his chest and he was a little flabbier than he would have liked. As he looked into the mirror, two perky nipples looked back, supported by two soft mounds that were clearly visible under his T-shirt.

The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow on my sister’s bedroom. I stood there, my heart pounding, staring at the reflection in the mirror. My sister’s pink sundress clung to my slender frame, the fabric smooth against my skin. I had always been drawn to her clothes, to the way they made me feel… different. Not like Taylor, the boy. But like someone else. Someone I couldn’t quite name yet.
