"I hear you fell off your bike?" Stella said to Simon.

"Yeah, a relatively gentle tumble."

"So you're not badly injured then?"

"No, but thank you for your sisterly concern?"

"I'm not concerned, just wondering why you didn't help Cathy clean the bikes."

"She knows what she's doing."

Thankfully he hadn't hurt himself nor damaged the bike in his fall. "Hey this is good fun," he gasped puffing his way to the top of the hill.

"So they tell me," I replied.

"Hmm I might have to get myself a decent bike," he said to no one in particular.

"What's wrong with that one?"

"Well it's an entry level, isn't it?"

The day after our rescheduled Christmas dinner, I decided I needed to start organising myself for hospital, so I laid out nighties and dressing gown, slippers, toiletries etcetera. By that time it was mid morning and I was fed up. I decided as it was a dry day without too much wind to give Ruby a quick ride.

Author's note:
Per request, I'll start posting my old Cromexx Central stories here at topshelf.

This is an old six chapter story of mine I had on my old site Cromexx Central (no longer online). This story is followed by a pair of sequels. I'll just post a couple chapters at a time every other day or so, so I don't hog up the whole story board.

I sat in a chair in the lounge, the tea beside me was cold when I woke up. It was also dark and dreary, a drizzly rain was falling made thoroughly unpleasant by a strengthening breeze. I glanced at my watch it was nearly eight o clock, I must have zonked for nearly two hours.

I was nervous but I knew that these people supported me. No one was in the kitchen where we entered. The three of us headed into the family room and the two girls took my hands.

Becca’s mom looked up from the couch where she was reading. “Hello girls. How was the drive?”

Becca trembled in Tony’s arms, she felt so utterly weak and powerless, this man had heard her story, and still liked her, still wanted her.

Becca Closed her eyes, she was so happy. She never saw the fist coming.

Kim sat across from me on the enclosed back porch. She sat on a white plastic

Healing a Princess...21 (Darkness and Radec)

Just how easy is it to do or say and not worry too much about reaction and feelings. A lack of thought or empathy. Understanding or accepting… well that takes effort and some will not even consider the reasons and are blind to possibility.

This is one of those dark and un-redeeming type things conceived while I was in a mood. You know, one of those where for a few days everything is grey and a bit bleak and nothing you say is right and nothing fits and nobody likes you and you don't eat right and maybe drink a little more than you should, which of course... but you still sort of function and carry on and most don't notice.
It deals with the less desirable side of people. So if you want up, or frills or some redemption or hope…um, give this one a miss huh.
