A month or so later I got word from my contact at Parafield that he had a Cessna 182 that was in good order, being only five years old, and at the right price. I made sure that our finances would cover the purchase and one of our guys drove me to Broken Hill where I had organised a seat to Adelaide.

"This time it was a sound attack of some sort," said the Detective, as Vic came hurrying onto the crime scene of yet another "super drive-by."

Unlike the previous two attacks, this one had been during business hours. Additionally, the target was not a crowd, but a downtown real-estate company. This turned out to be one of the business working to refurbish and resell abandoned houses in the Detroit area.

"What is with this city, anyway?" said Michelle, as, together, she and Vic moved into their den and the couch in front of the TV.

"Part of it is that it's a crossroads," said Vic, shrugging as they sat and unconsciously snuggled closer. "Part of it is that all the empty - in many cases abandoned - properties and even entire neighborhoods here make hiding illegal activities relatively easy.

Well its been 2 years since I posted a chapter....so I guess its time?

Lillyn is refocusing her research on the automata of Maynard Mansion.
But, of course, nothing is ever easy for her.
Maybe one or two of her friends can cheer her up.

I never thought that my extreme fear of needles would lead to my downfall...

I have always thought myself as relatively healthy. I've never had a run in with the standard childhood diseases, and never had more than just the common cold, really. I eat well and try to keep physically fit and active. So I never thought I would succumb to "The Fever".

It all started innocently enough. I was in my bedroom, just relaxing, watching some TV, when my sister knocked on the door.

"Come in," I said.

She sat alone at a small table in the back of an urban coffeehouse. Jammed up in a corner in front of the bay window sat a pimply youth clutching a mandolin, looking like he would bolt out the door if a mouse squeaked. The place was almost deserted. The three people near the sad excuse for a stage were obviously friends, the one girl probably the girlfriend of the performer.

Pillow talk.

Some evening conversations are more interesting than others. Take tonight, for instance.

"Now really, Alonzo, your parents weren't anywhere near as bad as you made me think."

"You didn't have to live with them once Dad saw the light."

"Now really, I didn't smell even a hint of brimstone. Chantal doesn't seem to think they're so bad, either."

"Grandchildren get spoiled, children don't have that luxury."

With her friends firmly on her side, Lillyn focuses on another endeavor.
It is time to research.
But now that she has so many new items from Earth she is hard pressed where to start.

Much was revealed the day before.
After coming to terms with the church, Lillyn is eager to call her friends.
It is time to make some plans.
But maybe she is in for a surprise too.
