A different angel:3, trials

Nothing was said he just patted the seat next to him for David to sit down and to settle down to wait. After a short while dad turned the TV onto the local news and David couldn't help but smile as Richard was being called a hero in the segment reporting on the rescue of the young girl from the quarry. The house phone trilled for attention and dad went to pick it up after listening for a whort while in a strained voice asked.
“will he recover?” ….......
Chapter 3:

“In the end, it was a cruise ship called Bastion of the Seas that picked up our faint distress signal during one of their trips and made the decision to go off course and investigate after calling it in.

They'd lost the signal soon after and considered it may have just been a misread but the captain made the decision to keep heading for the last known location.

The flare had given them all the confirmation they needed. The last flare, though faint, led them straight to us.

I kept screaming. For help. In pain. In anger. I glanced down at Mikey who barely seemed to be moving. Ben had a twisted smile on his face. His eyes were red as the blood that had begun to stain Mikey's clothes. In the moonlight, it was clear to see that Ben was crying in creepy juxtaposition with the smile on his face.

This is a short story I wrote last year for a competition that was part of an LGTBQ Festival. It got an Honorable Mention. Marianne.

Where there’s a Will……

It has been said that when someone dies, everybody grieves. This is not always the case, as the richer that person was, the greedier some people get. Of course, we would all say that this would never happen in our own family but it is a good job that we are not around to see the fireworks.

Stamp Part 5

The cooks and I had made a buffet which turned the afternoon tea into a stand around and chat session and a lot of various alcoholic drinks made the ladies very cheerful by the time they left. There was enough left over for the household to have a good meal which took the load off the kitchen.

Part 39

That was something I had not seen coming but, on reflection, it made perfect sense. Anu did not need to prove again that he was a great singer and proving that he was also a great actor to those who panned Bollywood films as just fluff would be irresistible.

We all flew back into London for Christmas and it seemed drab and in need of a coat of paint after the glamour and glitz of India, although it did smell a bit better. We had a couple of weeks at home, catching up with family and friends, before all flying back to India to see what our future held.

Part 37

We were all tired by the end of the day and wrapped it up so we could have dinner. Anu had told the hotel that we would be working so we did not want dress-up meals. It was an animated bunch that sat down to eat. Anu was flanked by Anna and Joyce while I had Gaurav and Jill.

Part 36

Anna was the first to recover her wits. She put her hand on Anus’ arm and said “Well, dear. It seems as if you have total control, finally. I think we should start by getting a check-list and then work through it. I think that this is going to be a fun year.”

Part 35

The Head of Studio was now starting to turn grey and Mr Singh called over the hotel manager, saying “Sam, do you think you can help our friend there to his room and then get someone to help him pack. Then, I think, you can call a cab and see him off the premises.”

If possible, the girls were looking forward to graduation day even more. They decided that, for secrecy, the only girls in on the plan were Amy, Anna, Sarah Nelson, and Karen Price. Not that anyone would talk. Of course not; teen-aged girls don’t talk much, do they? The more people involved the more chance someone could “slip”,“ Well, I told a few people, but I told them not to say anything!” That would never happen!

The next day we all assembled at the recording studio. Tom had extracted the twenty tracks required from the CDs and made a new one with just those needed. He had also sorted them into his idea of difficulty level.

Gaurav and I had a few days to ourselves and we found that we were more in love now than we were when we married. I suppose that shared experiences give you something you both can talk about without a need for explanation.
