I was gasping, panting and sweating like a cross country runner in Death Valley. I was still too reactive and not proactive enough. So my next move still gasping the thin air around me was to alter the Barrier frequency just enough to create a slicker surface than it usually has. Reducing the purchase the wind could get on the fabric of the Barrier. Who ever was generating this storm was seeking blood, so if I don't think and act fast they may just have enough horses to pull it off., I could not flinch even once. I needed to act as my strength was depleting. Unlike Atlas I could not afford to shrug and wouldn't even if I could.

The boy had just outlined his plan to the imposing figure before him. The trip there was arduous and fraught with danger. Braving the storms and a typhoon to cross the channel to meet this man in Bristol. It had to be done and then Richard told of him of what he wanted.

Henry almost laughed, “That’s the stupidest thing I ever heard. Are you serious, boy? You can’t be. It can’t be done!”

“It’s okay most of the time,” I said. “Times like this, I can forget what’s wrong with me and just enjoy being a girl out shopping with her friends. My friends accept me for who I am, and strangers can’t tell what’s wrong with me.”

David, now Aria, continues his journey through Ilos and learns a little more about his mysterious traveling companion.

Calvin was afraid as he walked into a store and looked around. He was a guy so he wasn’t sure what he was doing, but he was determined to do it. He braced himself as he saw an assistant approached him saying, “May I help you sir?”

“Yes, I need a dress.” He was deliberately being vague. He knew he would have to say it sooner or later.

“There are many fine dresses and gowns here. Do you know her size?” It was annoying work especially when a guy came in trying to buy a nice gown or dress for his girlfriend. They often didn’t know their girlfriends size and it made her work far more difficult and frustrating. She hoped this young man knew something that could help her find the right dress for her.

He smiled, decided to stop being afraid. If he was going to do this then he needed to do it. It was his choice after all. If he was going to blush and be a coward about it, he may as well walk away. He looked right into the woman s eyes, smiled softly and said, “You don't misunderstand ma'am. I want the dress for me. I have no clue about these sizes so I need help with finding a dress that will fit me and look beautiful. I usually wear a size 36 to 38 jeans, extra large tops. As you see, I am large and very athletic. I do wrestling and boxing. So can you help me?”

I look at her. “We can come with.”

She looks nervous. “You guys don’t have to.”

I look at her and slip over and give her a hug. “Hey it’ll be okay it’ll give everyone two targets instead of like one.”

Mary Jane says. “Three, safety in numbers from the whole parental scrutiny thing, cause that happens when they start talking.”

She bites her lip and she nods. “Okay.”

I smile my own little shaky smile. “Besides I kinda gotta go, I want to kind of have people like actually meet me before Halloween.”

“What’s going on with Halloween?”

“Uhm…I’m coming out.”

Okay Becky’s jaw drop was worth it.
