That was where Wendy found her sitting, some ten minutes later.

“Getting some quiet time in, love?”

“That and some thinking, Mum. Are you ready to go yet?”

“Just about. Your Dad will be here a while until Malcolm takes over.”

She looked around the room.

I would like to share one of the rabbit holes my mind goes down:

See, I was watching this documentary on the formation of the moon, and for some reason I started thinking "what if we had ended up with 2 moons, instead of 1?"

Now there is a bunch of physics that would be in play in this situation, but since I don't understand it, I am going to skip it, and just talk about the effect on humans (assuming we evolved on this alternate Earth).

I found my uncle stumbling around the small bathroom of the church. He was drunk as a jude, and the moment he spotted me out of the corner of his beady eyes he stumbled toward me. His eyes were glazed over and his breath reeked of cheap, corn whiskey. When he was mere inches from me, he reached out and placed both of his hands upon my shoulder. 

The parents of a troublesome teenage son finally had enough and sends him for special training. He gets more than she bargains for.

A small group travel to meet the Council of Fanir, who are anxious to discover just what the 'Federation' is. During the discussions they are forced to relate some part of their previous adventures which impresses their hosts. On returning to the port, however, Tor has some alarming news.

Celeste Rawlins moved with practiced efficiency through the eastern lot of Millridge State Park, her footsteps nearly silent on the forest floor. The afternoon sun filtered through the trees, casting dappled shadows on the path ahead. After her morning classes had finished, she'd decided to follow up on the unsettling energy readings from yesterday's reconnaissance with Erica.

The following morning, Willow told her father about Brent going to buy the drums and that the account will be emailed.

“You can pay for them out of my account, Dad, and transfer a thousand to the debit card account I use. When Maisie takes Gina and me into Coventry, I’d like to take them to a decent lunch. The way that Maisie has pitched in with everything is amazing.”

“That’s all right. I’ll do that tonight. Just make sure that you’re not Miss Moneybags. You may need that nest egg later on.”

I took a deep breath and slowly I released it. My heart was beating like a jack-hammer, and once more I firmly gripped the rectangle shaped NES controller. For endless days I've been battling the never-ending horde of monsters, killing and slashing my way through the many acolytes who wanted to plunge fair land once more into eternal darkness. I'd searched the land from one corner to the other, seeking out hidden knowledge.

When I was eleven my father died. The circumstances are a bit murky, but as far as I can gather it was a mugging that went wrong and my dad was murdered. I don't think I ever got over the shock nor did Mum. She was working but she couldn't afford the mortgage and we had to leave the house. That increased the stress and pain we both felt. I was very close to my mum and this made that even worse

The specialized isolation ward in Doyle Medical Complex was unlike any hospital room Ethan had seen before. The walls were covered with subtle geometric patterns that seemed to shift when viewed from different angles. Various monitoring devices surrounded the hospital bed, some familiar and others clearly designed for paranormal patients.

That Saturday afternoon, Willow put the Yamaha in its box, added the support frame and her old seat, and Ashley carried the keyboard to the club, where they stored it in the stage storage area, telling Malcolm that it was on loan.

“I believe you’re right, Willow. It seems to be quite popular.”

“If the take-up of albums remains at half the views, that means that they’ve sold four hundred thousand.”

“My word. That’s almost enough for a gold record, or whatever they give out for a digital offering. These are local Coventry boys, you say?”

“I think so.”
