"Mom, Dad?"

This was so hard. They both stared at me, probably at how I looked sick. I felt sick. I had to clear my throat, but I got it out.

"I'm... I, I think, I'm a... a girl...."

My dad leapt to his feet. "Get out!"

"Dad!" I couldn't keep the tears from starting. "Dad... please! I can't help it...."

"Shut up!"

Mom rolled her eyes as she reached out to hug me. "I'm the only woman alive with a husband who sounds like Hannah Montana...."

Death came for me in the shadows of ruined buildings in the body of a dead city. I sensed its approach before hearing it.

“Wow….I think you had better start explaining this whole reality thing to me... Danny replied. “And yes, I’d like that.”
Vanessa cocked her head at Danny, “Like what?”
“To be your… um, daughter?” Danny mumbled awkwardly. “I guess I have to accept a few changes.”
Vanessa leaned forwards and kissed Danny on the forehead. “First thing, you need is a new name. As I never expected to be a mother thanks to this… the way we are… I’d be so happy if you would let me pick my child’s name?” she asked cautiously.

On Moroth morning Darla woke along with all the friends at about 06:00BN, and soon joined in the hustle and bustle of people getting dressed, having drinks, and just generally making sure the house was ready to be left again maybe, for quite a while.
The twins spread the dust sheets over the furniture whilst the rest of the group was making sure that the house was clean and tidy.

All right, first things first. There is NO TG or CG content in this. It's bloody, dark, and rather unpleasant. It's also important in setting the stage in the latter stages of the Tale of Jet and Quartz, and adds a great deal of depth to one of the major characters in that tale.
