A Sweets Life-Chapter 2

I'm back with more, as promised!

As usual, Robin, Tina and Jenny waited to walk Andrew to school. No one made a big deal about it, but each girl carried in her heart the memory of the promise they had made to Mr. Gabriel, that they would protect Andrew.

Besides, it was fun! Andrew was very smart and funny, and a great friend. Walking together was a treat, not a chore. It just brought the four of them closer together.

CHAPTER 92
The next morning was the usual post-party nightmare of half-eaten food and filthy glasses, not to mention a mild hangover. The Woodruffs had stayed over, and the girls, but everyone else had made their way home by cab or shanks’ pony. There were things to do, and fortunately there were young people to kick out of their sleeping bag who could be made to do it. I don’t think I look terrifying in a pair of fluffy pink slippers and a terry dressing gown, but I did my best.

 
I was rehearsing the words in my mind as I walked in. Supermarkets were so different now to what they had been when I was younger, so many more things to buy, so many more to dream of. I had been through the big Asda store with the lies, and now it was time for Tesco. Pretty…there were dresses and tops, skirts and shoes, boots and bags, and unless I could gather the courage I would walk out lacking them all.

CHAPTER 89
Arwel was steering the male conversation around to the relative merits of bass and tenor balance in male voice choirs, and I half expected him to give a demonstration, but that would have been frivolity. Man’s voice was made for giving praise to the Arglwydd.

CHAPTER 88
The next day was an attempt to get some space in my head, and as the two boys went off on some silly 200km ride, Steph and I kept it down to half that distance. No, Eric, I am not riding up to the top of THAT and down the other side, because it would mean having to get up THAT twice more than necessary.

We took the new bridge, of course, which to me lacks the drama of the old one by Aust.

Chapter Sixty-one

Tanya had barely stepped into the room when Cynthia practically shouted, “Hey bitch!”

“I take it you're feeling a little better?” Tanya asked as she approached her friend's bedside.

“What makes you think that?”

Smiling, Tanya answered, “The return of your sparkling personality.”

“Maybe I just like you,” Cynthia countered. “Or maybe I'm just a wonderful, loving person.”

“Yeah, right,” Tanya smirked.

Synopsis:Having finely broken the security on Anna’s computer, Sarah learns that there is one other out there like here that is also in hiding and no longer being alone takes it upon herself to find him, but if the files on Steve Granger are true, Sarah could have just met her match but without his help she will be forced to take the enemy down alone.

CHAPTER 84
We stayed long enough to give both couples a hand tidying house and garden and then made our way back to our own place after seeing everybody else off.

Synopsis: After kidnapping Dr. Picard, Sarah learns that he didn’t play a part in her dilemma, but gains a valuable alley in the fight. Sarah later with the help of Adam and Megan are successful with the raid on Anna Vandervolt’s home.
