If I were to sum my life down to a single word, I would be hard pressed to pick anything other than ironic. I remember things I did not do, and remember other things that most would call me insane in claiming. Yet the fact remains that I am something I wasn't, nor could be and how I came to be who and what I am is a tale already told. Which, should you be reading this, you have doubtlessly read already.

Darrel is a dimension mage. His hereditary trait is to shape unused dimensions into his own world, with his own rules.
He thought long and hard what world he would create for his first attempt.
He thought of every detail. Tried to avoid every mistake.
But there is a reason why dimension mages say: "Everyone messes up their first world."

Therapy

“Do you believe me?” I asked Dr. Malmon. It was our fourth session together. I had just finished explaining Mr. Glome to him. I expected to hear the tired refrain, ‘I believe that you believe.’

“It’s hard not to,” The shrink said instead. “You gave me permission to consult with your doctors and other experts.” He paused and gave me a look, “I hope you’ll understand if I leave the extra dimensional aliens out of my consultations—but from what I’ve seen… your explanation is as likely as any other.

School

My mom let me take some time to compose myself before she started the car. Again, she didn’t ask anything. I don’t know what she thought happened in there, but I don’t think it was as bad as what actually happened.

When the sniffles had stopped I asked her, “Where are we going next?” Trying to pretend that nothing had happened.

“Well I had a couple appointments scheduled, unless you want to just go home.”

Staring

I woke to find my hands pressed in between my thighs. That should have been uncomfortable and wasn’t. It was comforting. I rolled over to go back to sleep and found that everything was wrong with my body.

Not that. That was still wrong, but I had woken up with some of the knowledge permeating my brain.

What was wrong was my breasts. One was half-in, half-out of it’s bra cup in one direction. The other was half-in, half-out at an opposing trajectory. One shoulder strap was on, the other was pinning my arm at my side.

The third weekend for Mercy as a girl and it shapes up to be a busy one.
Not only is her Aunt in town and ready to take Mercy under her wing.
There is also the small detail of her "not-a-date" date with crossdresser Mitch.

Mac was—well, “obsessed” would be to put it unkindly—interested in a rather particular art: the vocal impression. Since he was eleven he had been practicing voices: cartoon characters, celebrities, even his parents. But there was one wall he always ran up against: he couldn’t do female voices. It didn’t help that his voice had changed at a relatively young age. But it wasn’t just that: he also just felt too embarrassed. It felt like he was doing something… wrong.

Mom Arrives

I forgot what had happened to me when I woke the next day. I was snuggled in my bed, and reached down to adjust my balls, as you do in the morning.

When I touched soft lips instead, I figured they were hiding away, searched harder and hit something wet. That’s when it all came rushing back to me, and I really let out a sob. While Mercy is looking forward to fighting new foes, old issues become relevant again.
She thought she had Mitch handled, but maybe she had been too quick to think so.

Waking Up

I woke up, opened my eyes, and closed them again because it hurt to keep them open. Not that tired-eyes-hurt, but just like they couldn’t focus. I took stock of my surroundings eyes shut.

The first thing I noticed was that my mouth tasted like shit. So bad it had pulled me awake.

Death

I changed my books from locker to backpack. Put the textbooks I didn’t need into the little metal space, put the books I wanted into my pack. Grabbed the earbuds that would be confiscated if seen in class. School policy.

It is time for Mercy to get to know some other trickster mages.
She might learn some new things. Gain some new hope.
But first, she has to teach some cheerleaders that bullying is bad.

The sleepover and weekend are coming to an end.
Now that Mercy and Victoria had wild passionate sex one question remains:

Mercy's first night of the sleepover is done.
Not only is she heading into some lessons in "being a girl" by Victoria.
It is also time for some experimentation.

It’s been 36 hours. The hold is nearly empty, and the flood lights are back on for the second time. I know Tinoct has slept, and I went down for around six hours early this morning. I don’t think Hakho or Chinta has slept.

We’re ahead of schedule. The last of six convoys is here. The last truck is getting loaded. There are too many people to work on the last stack without getting in the way, so Hakho is supervising the last team.

I have a Mr. Coffee plugged in in the control bay, and I’m pouring myself a cup when Chinta comes over and rubs my shoulders a little bit.

Mercy is in panic.
Not only is Victoria acting strangely.
Her visit at the self-help center goes nowhere near as planned.

With the weekend coming Mercy prepares herself to find out more about her magical talent.
However other truth, large and small, reveal themselves.

Adam’s dream had always been different. While all the other kids around him played with their Overman and their Glory action figures, and chattered about how great it would be to save the day, his thoughts were full of darker things: swirling capes, shadowy figures, spinetingling cackles… You could leave those so-called “heroes,” saving the day with their fists and muscles, to the populist masses.
