What better way to have a summer romance than to have it occur in the place and time of more romance historical novels: London during the Regency period, specifically November 1814 to just after Waterloo. Note changes through out.

Prelude, Chapters 1 & 2

What better way to have a summer romance than to use the most common historical place and time used by romance novelists, London, during the Regency period. In this case November 1814 to after Waterloo.

Prelude:

September 1,1066

“Thou art the ‘Guardian of the Rose?’”

We waved them goodbye as Mrs Rose drove off and then returned to the house where Farah and I went back up to my room. Everything had been left neat and tidy.

‘I hope everything goes okay for Bryony at the doctor’s,’ I said. ‘It’s not going to be easy for her having to pretend to be a boy at school and only being a girl at home and the weekends.’

     Be careful what you wish for.

Katie was not in a great mood that night. Her mother had just divorced her father and they had moved across the country to be closer to her mother’s family. They had stayed in a noisy hotel until the day before the movers were expected to arrive at the new house because they decided to travel by airplane while their belongings made the journey in a mover’s truck. When they stepped off of the plane and went to baggage claim, Katie’s suitcase was nowhere to be found. On top of that, when the movers delivered their belongings, it was discovered that Katie’s clothes were missing. To add insult to injury, they’d spent her twelfth birthday on the plane.
