Okay, I was telling my roommate's sons (K and N) and their two friends over for, "Three Days of Gaming Before School Starts Again," (C and D) about the incidents reported to us, here (by Karen J), when this is what happened:

I was trying to check my transliteration of Roman text back into Cyrillic and my obviously inept translation of the following two Russian phrases:

O Lyubvi malyu otchayanno (I pray for love desperately)
-- О любви молюсь отчаено

V krayu dalyokum, chuzhie ne nuzhny. (In distant lands, a stranger is not needed)
-- В краю далёкому чужие не нужны

Certainly happened here didn't it.

The Sight is at an end, but I didn't say the story was.

I have written nothing this week and have no real excuse for not continuing Stevie's adventures.

As I was working on the third and final chapter of my "Changed by Aliens", I began to remember some details of a Science Fiction story I'd read some years ago. The similarities to that other story were purely inadvertent. So, now I am faced with what to do now.

I know I posted it too late, and for that I apologize. I originally intended a short fifteen hundred word complete, but like so much in my life that soon snowballed into something much more ambitious.

That being said, even with all its flaws I'm happy with my generically titled but I like to think creative story.

I know this is a lame excuse, but I don't know whether I am going to be able to post this week as usual.

The thing is, I am drawn like a moth to the flame to the British cyclists in the Olympics--not to mention a fairly unbelievable run by Bolt and well, I just haven't had the time to get into the story.

Treated myself to a pedicure today. I was dressed in standard random male street clothes, sneakers, socks. Just picked a random nail salon, went in, asked about getting a pedicure, with polish, was greeted with a bit of a giggle, but directed to a pedicure station in the back of the shop. "Great," thought I, "at least I won't be on view from the street."

BBC's My Family sitcom has, I just recently discovered, an episode with a TS character/theme. In it, Ben, the leading male, has an old university friend coming to visit, who happens to be TS and has already transitioned, but not yet told him. This isn't the first LGBT-based episode for the program, and I was dreading watching the episode a bit, as the previous ones weren't entirely tasteful.

Due to being distracted by homework and internet woes, Dear Diary -- and anything other than Shortcuts!, really -- will have to wait for now. Sorry.

I was looking at the "My Stories" page and I noticed something odd. The latest chapter in the Stark series, Stark: The State of Grace, has less than a thousand hits overall. Compare that to every other chapter, with hit numbers between 2000 and 3000, and you have a bit of a mystery.
