The 'Fishing Rodeo' was an annual tournament that was sponsored by the 'The Benton Bass Federation' a local association of professional and amateur fisherman and women. The tournament often meant big business for the downtown merchants too, as tourists from the surrounding cities and towns would flood in, some even entering their names into the event in hopes of claiming the bragging rights that came with catching the biggest fish. And of course, some hoped to pocket their share of the prize money being offered.

Lockdown Part 1

Hi, my names Mel, short for Melvin. As we all know nobody's allowed to travel or anything right now. Unfortunately I was at my aunts farm when we went into lockdown and my parents are important workers to the community so decided it was best that I stayed here for the time being. It's good here but there's just tons of fields and the nearest shops are all closed until everything goes back to normal.

I made the mistake of misjudging the female sex. Most men have made that mistake, at least once in their lives, but I think not many have seen it change their lives like it did mine.

Facing the inevitable, Mary begins to train herself to act and think like a man. At the same time, she starts training Liz, her close friend and confidant, into becoming a respectable lady and potential partner. Mary is torn between what society expects of her and her own desires.

Beverly takes Lola to her shipping office in Hull where Lola discovers something unexpected.

The girls are invited to Denton Hall where events take an unexpected turn for Lola.

Trish waved me over to her and the other girls who were warming up by taking shots. I saw Mary walking in the other direction and talking to my soon to be opponents on the basketball court.

“How are you doing, Riley? Are you ready to play?” Trish wanted to know.

“I am not sure. I will try my best.” I said more to myself. I made sure the sneakers that I received on loan were tied well.

Trish briefly introduced me to the other girls. They all seemed very nice and friendly.

Chapter 6 – Another new experience

Part One - P.D.Q

I was a normal, happy child; or so I thought. My change of life came on October 31st, 2005 but I had no idea what was to come. My name is Dana Quartermaine; actually P.Dana Quartermaine, to be exact. My parents had always called me Dana for so long I had never even bothered to look on my birth certificate to find out what the P stood for. I had a great-grandfather who was Philleus and a great-great-grandfather called Parthonagene (we were from some odd tribe in the Mediterranean way back) so I thought it was better left alone.

The news of me volunteering for the dunking booth had traveled around school like a Californian Wildfire, the hallways too were buzzing too with rumors of the two open spots at the bottom of the list would go to. One rumor said Mrs. Kimberly the girls P.E teacher had volunteered, another rumor said that one of the girls from the Junior High had volunteered. I tried to float above the rumors. The night before the fete, I took a good hot bath and made sure to shave under my arms and my legs too. I wanted to smooth as velvet for my time in the booth.
