Summer with Em Chapter 8

I’m just picking back up on this story that I neglected in error. I intent to complete it shortly.

Em decided I should wear a white tunic style top with several buttons that was loose fitting and extended half way down my thighs to cover any evidence of a bulge (not much to show) and it complemented a pair of her black high waist leggings that reached my ankles. Without my binding my breasts were clearly visible so Em produced a white sports bra. She thought it looked OK but would have preferred I wore a bra.

a little warning, chapter 1 may be a little dry, because of exposition. But I hope that can be fixed in the next chapters.

Once I reached the alter, a acolyte wearing a black cassock and white surplice approached me and offered me a hug. I was shocked at first, till I noticed the acolyte had shoulder length brown hair and baby blue eyes and a soft heart shaped face, I could place the face but not the name, then when she spoke I knew who it was.

Sliding the phone back into my pocket I quietly used the bathroom and exited back into the hallway. It was a bare hall; no pictures or anything hanging up on the walls, and I only passed one other room. Passing out of the mouth of the hall I emerged into the kitchen where Shelby was stood at the stove stirring stew beneath a yellow hood light, contrasted against the white lights of the kitchen and a backdrop of faded, peeling wallpaper. Zeke sat at the kitchen table, the shotgun apart as he cleaned it carefully with a series of brushes and fluids.

“You, girl, what’s your name? Why you sleepin’ on my lawn?” A gruff voice stirred me to life as the world came to me through squinted eyes and my vision was flooded with rays of light filtered by a thick canopy of tree branches far overhead. My skull pounded from a trauma I couldn’t recall and my hand dug into dirt as I coughed and sputtered to life. “What’s your name little girl? You’d best be about answerin’ me!”

Sunday dawned cool and clear. An early frost covered the ground and brass bells of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church bellowed all through the town. Soon there voices were joined by All Saint’s Catholic church. Fr. Brown had insisted the service for that day be in the ‘High Church’ style. Cradle Episcopalians would know this style by the colorful nickname of ‘Smells and Bells’.

Another boring day at work was over. Marty Chapman was bored. He’d been bored for years. He worked in a warehouse as a palette truck driver. He’d been there for more than 10 years. The only thing he had to look forward to was seeing Ellie, his only daughter at home in the evening.

His whole life revolved around her. Since his wife and her mother had traded them in for a Spanish Waiter some 8 years earlier, they’d been in it together.

Robert was disciplined for hurting two girls...
To avoid suspension he agreed to be a female mascot...
Robert has effectively become Rose and Dorothy the sailor...

Milsy and Senidet learn the good news, then have to locate a pair of boots... Later, Captain Merek presents Milsy with a new project.

31 - Important Announcements

My schedule for the year had remained the same. And so, according to that schedule as soon as I dropped the paper off at the office, I was to report to my first period class. That being “Natural Science”. And as expected Mr. Henderson stood there in the classroom waiting for me. He wore a different suit this time, instead of the fading gray suit, he wore a dark charcoal suit. What remained of his gray, thinning hair had been brushed over the best he could to hide the big bald spot. The lingering smell of Old Spice aftershave, tobacco and coffee hung around him like a blinding fog.

This started out as a story called “Beyond Belief: 2” and was a separate entity in of itself and was not a sequel to anything....”BB” was kind of anthology work of sorts...”To Be a Different Someone” would be considered a part of that series in it’s proto form before I left it alone for awhile.
Anyway, this story is a continuation of “Unwritten Rules” and like Star Wars, it ruins a few things but also, this is from the prospective of Rebekah, who may (or may not have) been present at the key moments she speaks of.
