Roll on chapter 1179
This gets exciting.
Hope the blue - white light works again.
Still enjoying it.

Not for long
I don't see that the arrest will last for long. Extenuating circumstances and expensive lawyers will soon have the police changing their minds.
You're under arrest
is not enough; you have to be told why.
Now, is the copper genuine or one of the baddies? And if Alfie Bird was under arrest, who are the red cavalier, the blue car and the copper? At least it wasn't a red Peugeot.
Julie has just recovered from nearly being incinerated. She has a gunshot wound. Who caused it?
I wondered how long it'd be before SuperCathy got involved in another skirmish.

You're Under arrest is a great Manga/Anime series,i know Aoi is a man but i didn't realise there was a connection to Cathy, the scourge of the Hampshire Constabulary!

Portsmouth Plod...
...doing what they do best, being completely incompetent and trying to arrest the wrong person (Cathy) instead of the real perpetrators (Alfie plus the drivers of the mystery blue car and red Cavalier).
The hospital will confirm the details of Julie's first admission and discharge, the circumstances surrounding her second admission make it pretty darn obvious why Cathy was driving erratically - never mind all the witnesses (and no doubt CCTV) that saw the attempted hit and run in the car park before they left.
Never mind the fact it's winter, when Cathy makes the inevitable phone call to Henry, she'd do well to advise him to prepare Stanebury for an emergency visit. The thugs are unlikely to pursue them up there, and it would be an ideal bolthole for when Julie's stabilised. We know from experience that the farmhouse isn't secure against attack, and bad things tend to happen when they visit Henry's hotel.

Action aplenty!
Thanks A+B+I (homemade bread, but will anyone eat it?): I was expecting an action-packed Bikesode, and you've certainly delivered—in spades.
A gunshot wound to the chest doesn't sound great, and I hope the incompetence of the police doesn't keep Cathy away from providing some healing for Julie.
I know it was a school day, but Cathy made one fundamental mistake: she should have taken Trish with her. Her extra set of eyes, and her expertise at capturing action with her cellphone could have made all the difference, and it sounds like Julie's going to need lots of healing.
I just wonder what tomorrow's going to bring. I can't wait!

I can hear ...
... 'The Devil's Gallop' playing as I finish reading tonight's episode. This is just like the old radio soap of my youth "Dick Barton - Special Agent" which used that as its signature tune. Fortunately, Dick always managed to escape the villains and live to fight another day and I'm sure Cathy and Julie will too but it's exciting init?

I haven't seen a radio like that since my childhood. Oh, I liked the music, too.

Great on-going series. But
Great on-going series.
But why was Cathy so dense ?? she does have a child in the car !
Two attempted hit and runs and she still drives off; oblivious to the potential danger.
Can't wait for the next installment.

If Cathy was sensible
She'd have sheltered under a tree during that first thunderstorm and Stella wouldn't have run into her and the other 1177 episodes wouldn't have happened.

That'd have been good
That'd have been good. She could have been struck by lightening rather than Stella. You're right, it'd probably have hurt less. :-)
Thanks,

Have to agree on that comment
but the thing while trying to drive home looked like a well orchestrated attempt to kill them both. Have to wonder what Cathy's up against right now. Hope someone can get to Julie to help her out. I see another trip to the police station for Cathy. Hope she has the family lawyers on speed dial.
Well, of course...
Well, of course Cathy's under arrest. The cop saw her unsafe driving. She's there. Why bother with the other car?
I guess this week is "pick on Julie" week, huh...
Thanks,
Anne
That tears it, Cathy ...
incapacitate or even if needs be KILL the copper... IF he really is one. Hey if the blue light can heal it can kill. Cathy cannot afford the time to straighten out the moron IF he is a real cop and if he's a fake?... Well, then it's a no brainer.
Either way Julie needs her NOW. A few minutes delay could be the difference between Julie recovering unharmed, being brain damaged or dead. Chest wounds can be very serious, collapsed lungs, damaged heart, a torn aorta and so on. Cathy can heal a lot but bring back from the dead? I doubt that. And her own reserves are likely low due to rescuing/healing Julie herself and recovering from the effects of climbing that bonfire.
They must hire police in that a area on the basis of how illiterate, how thick headed and downright stupid they are.
THOUGH Cathy shares some blame. With all the threats AND the attempt to burn her adopted child alive she should have demanded a police escort and had daddy-in-law get a security firm to place a few guards around the family. She is too sure of herself or more likely too innocent at heart to even think she might be under attack.
They tried to burn the girl alive, they send a death threat letter and Cathy doesn't see there may be danger? But then neither did the local plods.
Good character bashing, Bonzi ... and you too, Ang, the waitsperson of His Lordship Bonzi.

In my many years on "The
In my many years on "The Force", no officer I ever worked, with nor myself would arrest a person who had just brought a gunshot victim to a hospital, until we had all the facts in hand. Extenuating circumstances contributing to Cathy's driving would definitely be considered BEFORE arrest. I too, am wondering if this Constable is actually a genuine officer, a crooked officer or one of the real bad guys. Cathy definitely needs to call her solicitors and right now. IF this officer is a real cop, I do believe that the Department personnel who he works for, are going to have another big headache very shortly. What "rights" are listed for citizens in the UK, are they the same as the US's Miranda Warnings? Oh, by the way, disregard what you see on TV, IF a US officer does not READ the Miranda Warnings from a card to the suspect, and just recites them "from memory"; s/he can very easily lose their case right from the get go. You are trained to READ and RECITE at the same time. Jan
Same in the UK, police caution mandatory, but one supposes...
"read me my rights" pretty much covers it.
On the other hand, not saying anything may harm one's defence as well, because the police can offer in evidence the fact that you didn't say you were pursued by criminals, demons from Hell, Valkyries (pick one) at the time, so may just be making it up after the fact. Catch 22.
It's by no means the same as the Miranda warning, because in the USA, one can refuse to say anything and it can't be held against one. The opposite is true in the UK, although one does have the right to say nothing until one's lawyer is present at the formal "questioning," which will be recorded. Once questioning has commenced, one is well advised to do everything within one's power to aid the police in their inquiries, because omissions of pertinent facts can be (and are) held against one in court proceedings.

Says nothing
Just observes Pud being correct. Criminal Justice Act brought that one in, much to my disgust professionally and personally. As someone above remarked, reason for arrest should be given.
You're under arrest
Copper: You're under arrest.
Cathy: What's the charge officer?
Copper: Interferring in an untimely death ma'am.
Cathy: WHAT?
Copper: Now resisting arrest.
Cathy: WHAT?!?
Copper: Now disorderly conduct also.
Cathy: You idiot!
Copper: Bad use of exclamation marks added.
Keep it up, you want more charges?
I couldn't resist.

I did and it did not go well
I was riding with a boyfriend when we were in HS, he did one and it flipped the car.
Note to self: that went well.
Very droll...
...and typical of high school boys. Glad you escaped with your life. It's a dangerous thing to do, which is why they teach it in advanced driving skills schools at five or six thousand US dollars a course. It takes a fine knowledge of one's skills and the vehicle one uses to execute the manoeuvre, as well as a refined sensitivity to road conditions. It helps to have practised a lot. Hard on tires, though.

Another charge would be added to the charge sheet for me.
If a Pig, not going to use a polite term here, had just told me I was under arrest in the same situation I would also be facing charges for assaulting pork. That jackass would be laid out on a stretcher at that ER (Emergency Room.) Nothing would be keeping me away from my child at that point in time.
Surely the police
are not as stupid as they keep being shown?
Makes you go hmmmm.
