This chapter deals with dark subject matters some may find disturbing. I intended to write this story with Alicia/Heidi getting the chance to pay back her family herself. There is also a murder committed.

Note from the author, When I am writing from Heidi’s family’s POV, I referred to her as Alicia since they didn’t get the news that she changed her name to Heidi.

She now struggled to travel only a few dozen yards, where once mankind had once traveled easily to every corner of their world.

The toilet seat grew harder as I sat and waited for the last bell. I wondered what I could do, maybe Karen or Gemma would have some ideas.

“That is, like, totally insane,” I said when Brian made his proposal, “Like I’m gonna do that, like I’m totally crazy?”

“Look, little bruv, if you don’t I am, like, cat food.”

“Why can’t you get Karen’s sister to do it?”

“She wouldn’t be able to get into the lockers.”

“Why me?” I asked almost rhetorically, I knew why.

“’Cos you’re the best, little bruv,” he said slapping me on the shoulder.

“How come, I’m like, only the best when you, like, want something?”

The spirits of swirling sparks and lights seemed to be her only ally and although the dark clouds and thunder above threatened...

He looked down at his sleeping daughter, Grace, amazed at the peace glowing softy on her face.

Moog Story

Moog walked into the bar to meet his old friend Carlos. They'd for some time now been meeting on the odd occasion to discuss things - nothing world-shaking, though they would probably admit that deep inside they both wished to leave something of note to the world. They were still young. There was time.

This is a work of fiction, though it does contain actual data and some conjecture. If you don't like tears, I would suggest not reading this. This is my first attempt at a standalone story (heck, any story period) and would ask for any and all words of wisdom and criticism. I would like to thank Kaleigh for her encouragement and my spousal unit for her proofing help.

The guys at work liked Ernie. Without much conversation at all, they always knew he was somehow different, but he could outwork any operator there, and he was good for a little joking now and then. Would Ernie's secret ruin everything?
