Songs have often been sung of battles Great and Small. Of the Villains and Heroes. Those who won versus those who have lost. In many of these bardic tales a person can find almost any example of humanities challenges. There are very few battles through that can encompass every aspect of humanities challenges as one all inclusive tale. This was one such battle, one of the great spun tales to pass down through the ages. To be told verbally in writing or broadcast on one of the few Tri-D stations still recording on station would not do it the full justice that was required of such a story.

John is a seasonal worker who often moved from one ranch to the next.
However, his newest job might become his undoing.
It isn't the ranch owner, a certified bad-ass witch, who turns out to be his opponent, but the very herd she keeps.
John can only trust himself. Not a good sign as he might be too curious for his own good.

This story takes place in the "Fashionable Witches" verse and can be read stand-alone.

Carol at Age Fifteen:
Carol looks at the four needles she managed to get from a friend that sold drugs. She was tired of waiting until she was sixteen years old to have the surgery to get her vagina. She heard what these drugs could do and wanted to be a true girl now.

She puts two of the needles into her left arm and puts the other two needles into her breasts. One needle per breast. She was glad she had the house to herself because otherwise, she would have to wait until everyone was asleep.

Autumn tries on several outfits as she and Carla shop. They had left the Voodoo lounge and went to some stores Carla knew well and trusted. She knew what to look for and what style best suited her body frame. All those years of playing women characters have helped her become familiar with what was practical for ordinary women to wear and what was needed for a special occasion and such.

Lizbeth deserves more in her life.
She has the skills and knowledge.
What she is critically missing is confidence.
So much, that her friend Colette has a rather unusual and extreme solution to try.

Despite it being summer, we arrived in San Francisco in a cold dense
fog. To get around the passport problems Bernadette had simply cropped
her hair short and worn a thick sloppy sweater to cover her breasts.
Until we picked up the new passports she was still registered on my
passport as a male child. Her disguise was adequate and she looked like
an adolescent boy as she attended to the sails. Our boat drifted
silently through the mist like a ghost.

Two friends get a new look for different reasons and in different ways at the mall.

This story can be considered in the same "universe" as my story: "Submission".

"It's from Harold Petersen, one of my contacts in the US Justice Department. He says several agencies - including yours - are pooling resources to build a dedicated empowered detention facility."

"I knew there was word about that going around," said Blackpool, nodding slowly, "but not that they had put aside interagency rivalries and actually started building the place."
