The President slammed the report down on his desk. “Too damn many pages,” he muttered. “I’ve told them, and I’ve told them no more than two pages… and large type.”

In this chapter, our hero learns about clothes and expectations.

The parents of a troublesome teenage son finally had enough and sends him for special training. He gets more than she bargains for.

I let out a long, tired sigh and elegantly lower myself onto the front passenger seat of dad’s car, straightening my short grey skirt and thick black tights before fastening my seatbelt.

“Oh, cheer up,” dad urges with a teasing grin. “Could be worse, it could be Monday!”

“It IS Monday,” Bryony reminds us from her seat directly behind me.

“Oh yeah,” dad chuckles. “Well- just cheer up, then. Especially you, Ash- just a few more months then you’ll finally be free!”

Now a man, Mark faces a new reality as his parents are now alive but Liz has completely forgotten he exists.

Mary, the new student, is a rich heiress to her family's company and estate but can't speak. Liz befriends and defends Mary from bullies while discovering her secret: Mary is cursed. Liz works to unravel the mystery of the curse before Mary undergoes an operation that will silence her voice permanently.
