“Ok Julia, please scoot off for a minute sweetheart, I need to take this call, I won’t be more than a few minutes!”

As she searches for clues to her identity and what happened to her it becomes clear her past isn’t just lost… it may be dangerous.

Even though two people had managed to pass through the first filter and listen to the podcast, there were no phone calls, then one evening there was a ring on Stephanie’s phone.

Stephanie pressed to receive the call and put it on speaker phone for Graham to listen.

A broad Scotts accent said. “Am I through to the Help Line?”

“If it is the Help Line you read after the Podcast, then, Yes.”

“I am told my name is Kirsty, although until two days ago it was Hamish. I am sitting with Kirsty’s Mum, Lucy.”

“Where are you?”

I only took it easy on you because you're a Girl! 

My mouth and eyes were dry, sunlight through my parents window caused me to stir. I rubbed my eyes a little, after opening them I realised what a mistake that was. I had been wearing mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow last night and hadn't removed it prior to sleep. The black smudged transfer on my hands led me to expect the same on my face.

Advice?

I took a deep breath as I walked into the small bathroom, I was starting to think the wine was getting to Aunt Flora, first she was talking about the Easter Bunny, and now she was talking about Santa Clause. Did she think I was five or six or something? Bloody Hell, I was sixteen!

Easter Dinner

Nothing really happen for the rest of he day. Despite going to a Catholic Private School, Aunt Flora and I decided to skip going to Easter Sunday Mass. After breakfast Aunt Flora went to get her morning shower and I cleaned the kitchen. The rest of the day was spent with Aut Flora napping and I reading. Dinner was of course the mutton joint that had been stewing away for a good seven and a half hours now.

In the Episcopal Church, Confirmation is supposed to be a sacrament of initiation that strengthens the grace we have received at our Baptism, it is supposed to be a marking of a deepening of one's own personal commitment to a Christian life. In the bourgeoisie South it's seen as kind of a social stepping stone. A young girl's Confirmation is often seen as a foreshadowing to her own Debutant Ball. A girl from a bourgeois family would often be Confirmated at age twelve, and at age sixteen or seventeen she would become a debutante. What is a debutante?
