Chapter two: healing a wounded child

The healing process of a child that was subjected to abuse depends on many factors. As in the case with Allen Peterson who was subjected to terrible abuse over a period of four long years then it will take a long time to heal. All she knew from ages 12 to 16 were pain and suffering. She was enslaved and beaten constantly for any infraction. No one loved or protected her. That isn’t easy to get over, and I am not sure if its possible to ‘get over it’

Part one: strangers in the night,

"Tell me about yourself," said Frankie the Nose.

Larry held the door as Davey entered the apartment on the fourteenth floor of the Del Amo Hotel. A distinguished middle-aged man sat in an antique chair, a bottle of wine and two glasses near him on an elegant table.

Larry made an introduction, Davey didn't listen except to start when referred to as 'Miss Dee Dee LaTours'. It's Davey Towers, he reminded himself.

It's like some fever dream, thought Davey. He stared into the mirror Beth held, staring at the woman staring back -- beautiful, bewildered -- and vulnerable.

Davey wanted to scratch his nose but with both arms under the cloth -- bib? cape? -- tied around his neck, he couldn't.

Davey pushed long hair out of his face again. He liked to read at corner tables in quiet out-of-the-way restaurants where his noisy roommates couldn't disturb him.

warning from the author: I fully intended from the start that Aliica/allen would get to give her/his family some of what she suffered at their hands so I plan on going to some very dark places with this story. I also want to make it at least within the relm of possibility even if not entirely believable. I hope you can stick with me but if this turns you off then I understand.

He knew the routine, having had it drilled into him over the years. Her doggedness was unrelenting and just the sound of her voice was enough for him to spring into the proper healthy posture. Standing up tall, he squared up his chin and drew his shoulders back. Then he thrust out his chest just as he had been taught to stand at attention at the academy. The subtle difference was the added rocking of his pelvis forward that caused his heels to rise up off the floor.

She called this Homeostasis. Patrick called it torture.

This is my sequel to Alicia’s Summer Vacation. I read the story the first time around 1999 and I was horrified at how the story ended. The way it ended left me with a very sour taste in my mouth, because he was a child and the extent of the utter betrayal by those who should have loved him. I been thinking about how to write an ending for around 5 years and this is my feeble attempt.
