MAN GIVES BIRTH

Somewhere a branch cracked, the sound of tearing wood reverberating through Karl's brain. He rolled onto his back, groping the furs for Solacia, but found them empty. He cracked open one eyelid, to search further.

The meadow was bright, the grass rimmed with frost so thick, that the blades of grass looked like fingers. The black coals of the fire likewise rimmed in white. The pool where he had first seen his wife, was as still as silvered glass, reflecting a sapphire sky.

This early in the Season the weather was still uncertain. It shifted between summer heat and winter cold. Down on the plains, it had been stifling, but it had grown cool as the trail rose into the foothills of the great range. Karl rode with only his white messenger’s cloak about his shoulders. All the better to show off his muscles, to any farm girls that might happen by. Not that he'd seen any farm girls, not since the lovely Lana, down in the Swift Creek village.

Direct sequel to Black Ring. Jack(y) is still struggling with her sexuality and her relationship with her husband, Chris. Jill contemplates having a child by using her sister-in-law, Sarah, as a surrogate mother. Jacky and Jill work to reconcile their differences while co-existing in the same body at work and in the home.

As a result of the many sexual harassment and discrimination scandals, the Fems swept the elections. In no time, they kept their campaign promise and passed the famous Pants Suit Act, more formally the GEA – the Gender Equality Act. With it, gender prejudice became, if not a thing of the past, at least illegal. For example, no one could ask your gender on a legal form or treat you differently based on gender. Mom, who voted Fem, said that was a good thing, so I thought so too.

Leigh Stone was surprised to find an invitation to the Magnolia Ball. It was the same event where his mother killed his father and then herself. He wanted to go after his parents came to him in a dream and said his mother was not the person Leigh had been raised to believe she was.

With the help of her girlfriend and a few forgotten relatives, including two women whose parent's passed under tragically similar circumstances, Hopefully Leigha and her family could get to the bottom of these Relative Possessions.

Crossroads

SINCE IT'S BEEN SEVERAL YEARS SINCE I LAST POSTED ANYTHING IN THIS SERIES, I DECIDED TO REPEAT PARTS OF CHAPTER 5 TO MAKE IT A BIT EASIER FOR OLD FANS AND NEW READERS TO EASE BACK INTO THE STORY. THERE IS A BIT OF A SPOILER AT THE END OF THIS POST, SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THE STORY FOR YOURSELF, DON'T READ IT. I'M POSTING THIS IN THE HOPE THAT I CAN FINALLY COMPLETE THIS LONG NEGLECTED STORY OF MINE, ALONG WITH ANOTHER ONE, MY "LUCK BE A LADY."

To everyone else, the bet where Harley would dress in a costume of their choosing, was a fun bonus to what already promised to be an unforgettable night for the local chapter of the Young Citizens Club. To Harley Smith, the bet and the teasing that accompanied it was a constant reminder that the changes to his body, changes that no doctor could explain, would soon be made public.

Last night's nightmare on current world events.

"Lily!" Katie yells I can barely hear her, the boat's motor is very loud, I scoot closer to her.

"What?" I ask at a normal volume.

"What were you and Bob talking about?" She asks, eager for the nonexistent juicy details.

"Nothing, I think I overreacted, we both acted normally I think we're friends," I say, hopefully JUST friends.

I look over to Bob. He is standing up, fighting the wind, next to Dad pointing him in the right direction. They look like a father and a son, a much better son than I ever was, or am.
