Charlie's been invited to a stag party at a casino. He's been given a hundred pounds worth of chips to gamble away as he likes, but he's really not interested.

Then he meets an attractive young woman with startling green eyes. Maybe she'll change his luck, but how much?

There's a bit of crude language in this one, but other than that no caution necessary — unless of course you're allergic to controversy. I think I may have found a hornet's nest in this one and poked it with a stick. I'm looking forward to the comments on this one and hoping I don't upset anyone too much.

Scratch that earlier comment on the word count. MS Word put the initial value at just over 10,000 and I've since managed to bring the number down to 9,996.

Gloria and Mandy just made it to the hospital as the paramedics were taking Ruth in to the Emergency Room entrance. They parked in the ER parking lot, and went in and talked to the receptionist. They were told to have a seat, because the doctor may want to talk to them.

They sat down in the small waiting area, you so commonly see in Emergency Rooms. It seemed to take forever, but then a young nurse came out and called for "family" of Ruth Watkins.

Yep, there’s a familiar salty coppery tang in my mouth.

I get up and there’s Summer about to kick me and her little buddies from Sucks on a Rose Bush are covering what’s going on with Charlie the owner and sort of making a wall of assholes bitching about us being there.

The kick doesn’t land as Brooklyn steps in between us and cuts loose with this backhanded swing. There’s a pretty loud crack of flesh on flesh and Summer goes down.

Oh you’ve heard the term bitch-slap right and so have I but I’ve never seen one as Brooklyn stepped in with a long single step and this full on backhanded slap! That drives Summer right to her knees.

He works his jaw a bit. “You do know that the school sets the cell-phone policy don’t you?”

“You had better be looking foe a lot of trouble if you did something rash Mr. West, unless every phone was affected by the same ruling I’d think I was being singled out.”

Again with the jaw.

“Are you determined to be adversarial with me for some reason Mr. Daniels?”
