I have to ask this. What makes it so funny to myself is that I am running it on a P4 1.5G machine. 1.5 G ram. NVidia GeForce FX 5200. I think it also has to do with my 5 G Swap file space. So any one else playing and on what type of setup?

This is an old topic but it was brought back to mind today. I once wrote something called 'The Deception of Choice' which was posted in 17 episodes plus an Epilogue. I was pleased to see that today Episode 1 achieved 6,000 hits. Not all of the 6.000 read it of course but arrived at it either by curiosity, mischance, or poor typing skills. I even went there myself several times. Nearly 4,000 have to date dropped in on the Epilogue yet only 2,000 hit on Episode 17, whereas over 4,500 landed on the shores of Episode 14.

That's a record number of visitors to BC on Monday, August 9th. It's also 177% of the average number of visitors in August of last year. The average for August this year is just about 150% of last year.

How NOT to do Tech Support - over the phone, to a technophobe, half a day after the problem was encountered, when the remote user doesn't have the laptop in front of them.

Oh, and said user is my mother, 40 miles (an hour's drive) away, and the laptop is at my sister's house (she's currently on holiday so left mum in charge of feeding the cat and attempting to learn how to use the internet from scribbled messages on post-it notes), about a mile away from mum.

Man, this has been a crazy, insane month. I haven't really been able to do much writing as life has whelmed me. But I am starting to get back into the groove. So I am wondering if I should complete a story I did for Nano, that I am considering posting here as I am unsure of how it would do in the market or perhaps something new. I really have no idea.

Thankfully though, the stress is dropping enough that I can write again.

Apart from the fact this character sounds totally unsavoury, his name is Brown, and there is a delightful line which starts, 'Brown is black...' as in Afro-caribbean.

I'm sorry that my expectancies to write everyday can't be met, i got a new job as of august and i can't keep with writing it on paper and then type it on the pc. Therefore expect some great chapters by September/October, on a 12h basis so that it is not a real massive update and also so that i can have a buffer of chapters in case something comes up. but don't worry the story is written just not proofed and tipped into the pc.

well, the local baseball manager got fired for a gay slur he said to a umpire, who just happens to be gay. I will be interested to see if the team tries to reach out to the community.

I went and got a fresh tire and innertube yesterday and just now I went to install them, preparatory to going grocery shopping. The tyre wasn't a problem. The tube, however, had some sort of newfangled valve that I've never seen the likes of and that my tyre pump won't fit.
Oh, and I can totally tell you that using american tools on a bike with metric fittings is a recipe for scraped-up hands and lots of rather inventive cursing....

Anyway, I'm bruised and scraped and I still don't have a bloody working bike.

I realize that some people like them, and I also realize that it takes a lot of work to set one up, but I have requested this before.

I do not want an author page that has general links to my stories.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that someone would go to the trouble of working on one, but I have said that I didn't want one before, and unfortunately that still stands.

As I sit in Sue Towers, trying to think of yet another cliff hanger for one of my stories, my significant other has just said goodbye as she goes off shopping.

I said ‘Bye,’ and carried on cogitating.

Then I thought about what I just called out — ‘bye.’

I wonder if someone from another place like Wherethefookarewe, for instance, perhaps here on an exchange or something and trying to get to grips with our language, would make of my brief utterance.

The closest I've ever come to remembering a dream is a feeling of anxiousness that seemed to follow me all day. I do not have night time 'wet dreams' (that I can remember).

For a while, I have been thinking of having some illustrations in my stories, and if I ever get organized again, I would like to have someone who can do simple Anime do some for me. I'd pay a modest amount for it. If not Anime, then please make a suggestion. It would not have to be anything fancy; certainly not one of those 600 meg drawings. Maybe even just a simple one line pencil drawing. After all sometimes just a mood is all a drawing needs to suggest. It will probably be a couple months before I actually need it. Anyone up for it?

I have a few things that I think are needed and which need to be discussed between those of us who are writing in the Comic Retcon Universe of Lilith's creation.

I imagine it just comes with the territory to a certain degree, but for as long as I can remember I've not just loved, but been captivated and fascinated with dolls.

I never cared much for baby dolls, but 'little people' of all sorts, especially porcelain figurines and lifelike dolls, are some of my favorites.

I am supposed to go meet a disabled man who is suicidal, and driving his sister crazy by constantly telling her he wants to kill himself. Yes, the poor guy cared for both his Mom and Pop until they died, Mom was the first and she had Altzheimers, and it sounds like Dad died of a broken heart.

In this chapter I created eleven new worlds for your imagination to run wild with. Use Google Sky to find their location. Use the website address that I gave in the last blog to see the other stellar names. There is one star system that is not in Google Sky. Which one is it? However, there is a clue in the name itself to which constellation I'm talking about. It is Tek's home world. Google search Tek's star system by name. Then guess which constellation it is referring to.

Here I am working on getting T&T caught up with VC (and I'm getting real close!), and now I've come up with another side story for VC! It's an idea I've had in the back of my mind for a while, though not necessarily as another side story. But much of what happens to this character will remain separate from the rest of the gang, so a side story really seems like the only way to go. So, Friday I'll be posting the first chapter of A Father's Rebirth.

Well, I am struggling a bit, trying to not get discouraged with my job search. That, plus my mom and I are both fighting a cold, and we almost lost our dog yesterday. The little critter ate a mouse that had been poisoned, and my mom had to rush it to the vet. Fortunately, it looks like she is going to be ok, but still, its not fun.

Have recently been thinking back to a time as a child when I had a pet cat and came up with a name that was out of the ordinary.

My mother had bought me a Burmese Brown kitten when I was 13, I remember mum asking what name I wanted to name my him - with perfect clarity and some pride - I named him SPLINTERS !

Well this got me thinking ( all 99.99 per cent ) about another very obvious cat name .... PUSSY ! - Well can you imagine calling out at the top of your voice in a crowded neighbourhood .... Come hear Pussy or worse Pussy Pussy where are you !

Just to let you all know I am still alive and well and keeping the Balcony alive, I have finally dug out and dusted off some old files on my hard drive and completed the Seasons Collection at Beverly's Balcony with all the stories thus far. Yes, I know it's long overdue. I blame all these excellent authors who keep distracting me and maybe real life issues too.

It's me again and this time I'm after some help.

Today I had a brainwave.

I want to turn one of my stories into a screenplay.

The story concerned is only short, but I figure it might be able to be adapted to a screenplay, since there aren't too many actual scenes, few special effects and well, I'm sure you get the picture.

Even though I'm no Steven Speilberg or John Carpenter, I'd still like to give it a go and since I have absolutely no experience with plays--even those made for TV, I wondered if any of you good people may be able to give me some pointers.

I have long enjoyed reading the many good stories on BCTS which involve magic, mystery and intrigue.

On occasion I get some good story ideas, yet lack the skill ( my opinion ) to write a good tale. I guess my style is more akin to writing an operating manual for a Bull-dozer.

To this end I have had an idea for a story where I would welcome any authors to run with the concept below:-

1. A young man is seen whilst on vacation in a European city such as Paris, Berlin, Munich etc.

I need some help. In chapter 10 I will mention six unicorn names. These six are paired up. When they come to Twainor from Earth, they give birth to a mare and colt each.

I know this is early. I'm getting your imaginations revved up here.

The others are paired up already. Avel and Makaela, Einhorn and Athena, Silverwind and Star Dancer. They have colts and mares. The first six unicorns each have a human soul and spirit, that will be explained in Book 2 for their backgrounds. Also the other six will have human souls and spirits as well.

They are now calling her a transsexual supermodel, this offering from the Observer is quite reasonable.

I guess since I've made a point to tell all about how great it is to be out to my doctors, I should post the latest episode.

I recently visited my endocrinologist for a follow-up visit on my thyroid. In going over all the scans and imaging they've done on it he told me there was one small spot that he wasn't really sure of that was of a minor concern and would like to do a biopsy on it.

I am just curious whether anyone has heard from Tanya Allan lately. I haven't noticed her signed on here on BCTS or anything new at her website for a while. I hope she is doing okay?

Well, I think I have reached a plateau. Going out in public was good, and I am glad, but now i have to return to pratical matters. I am still in need of a full time job, and i need to get cracking on it. Ah, well.

I would covet your prayers. After four years of fighting to save it, I will be losing my left foot sometime in the next month. I've done all I can do. I've lost about 100 pounds and have had over 16 surgeries. My doctors have all been excellent, and I bear none of them ill will.

I arrived home at around 1PM yesterday, tidied up my place, did some laundry, went to my folks to drop off some "pasalubong", had some dinner out, and tried to get as much sleep as I can to combat jetlag & to recover from the more-than-twenty-four-hour flight (not to mention two transfers).

Glad to be home.

Anyway, I'm gonna post a long blog this weekend with a lot of pics (which I will "anonymize" - hope you guys won't mind), that I hope you'll like. Not too many Manila pics, but lots of pics of my Palawan weekend (which was mostly swimming, swimming and more swimming).

I'm feeling pretty depressed right now. My 88 year old grandmother is dying up in New Hampshire and I won't get to see her again before she passes. My mother, brother, sister-in-law and my 4 year old nephew left this morning to go see her. She accepted me with open arms when I came out as her fifth granddaughter and even gave me two very steamy Romance novels my first Christmas as Jennifer. My mom's side of the family has really been like night and day in the way they have accepted me as compared to my dad's side. I guess it really has to do with the North/South attitudes toward tolerance.
