I swear, I get one problem solved, a new one comes up.

I got my banking issues taken care of, I straightened out stuff with my family, and I got recognition as a woman while doing laundry, so everything is smooth sailing, right?

Well, no.

My mother took another fall Monday night, and is still in some difficulty.

Being the stubborn woman she is (gee, I guess that's where I get that trait from), she wont let me take her to a doctor, so I'm stuck hoping she heals on her own.

Hard to believe that sixty years ago today.
Space the final frontier…

Was first said on tv.

This spawned countless tv shows, movies and is still ongoing.

Without it I doubt many other science fiction tv shows and movies would have come around.

At that time it was crime dramas/ country western that was the main stay.

Secret agents, police shows, comedy shows..usually with a set defined good guy vs bad guy.

The seventies opened up with much different movies and the old shows declined.

Medical update :)

If you saw my previous blog post you know I've been on an unplanned medical leave because of my vision problems. Recovery is going extremely well. I'm almost back to 100% again. In fact, there's really only one reason I haven't started posting again quite yet. I have an appointment this month for an experimental treatment (hopefully!)

I'm Okay

I fell in the hallway about an hour ago, going to answer the door. It was a neighbor, and between him and Melanie, they were able to get me up. I had stubbed my right toe turning the corner in the hall, and while I lifted my right foot, the left leg just gave way under me. I'm okay, a scratch and bruise on my left arm, but it was a bit scary. I need to remember to take a cane with me even when just going down the hall since my left leg does not always work properly.

Erin

sober regrets

Blog About:

Author:

one of my major problems is when I am either really manic or really depressed, I get ideas that seem to make perfect sense - until I get out of that phase, and I see them as they actually are.

When in manic, this often comes out in me overdoing things and not feeling the consequences at the time.

in depression, its mostly negative self talk - I get convinced I'm tolerated rather than liked, that I'm a pile of toxic sludge that only can hurt people who try and care about me.

I have been epilating with a facial epilator since November, I haven't shaved my my beard area since. I only spend a few minutes a couple of times a week running the machine over my throat and beard area and my beard growth is disappearing about which I am rather pleased. Also the skin is softer because it doesn't have bristles under it. I accept plucking by hand or by machine anywhere near the mouth does hurt a bit but nowhere near as much as electrolysis and once you have a machine the costs are minimal.

Chapter 9 of Plot Twist In Paradise is up! (Early posting!)

Hey everyone!

So this week's been a scheduling nightmare. I'm away from home for a couple of days, which meant Friday wasn't happening, and I'm not back until Saturday night. The earliest I could post was on Sunday. And on top of all that, Chapter 24 is absolutely kicking my ass.

Now I know a lot of you have been waiting for Chapter 9, and making you wait an extra two days just felt cruel and didn't sit right. So here it is... a day early.

Where do you find something?

I am currently reading/working my way through the Spearfish Lake Tales stories. There are 65 books with nearly 2100 chapters in total. Only about 8 or 9 books are NOT interrelated around the fictional north Michigan town of Spearfish Lake, as well as a few other near by fictional localities. The bulk of the tales cover the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, though there are retrospectives and flash-backs as far back as the late 1940s.

Not to step on anybody's religious toes, but I found that as a trans woman, I could see a trans story in there.

I mean, she's living quietly, then gets pushed into a place where she can express her feminine nature - clothes, makeup, beauty treatments, and so on, but there is a catch - she has a secret that if found out could even end her life.

Eventually, though, she must reveal the secret to save her people, regardless of the risk.

good news from the swallowing clinic

Blog About:

Author:

So I saw the swallowing clinic today, and it was good news.

The first thing was they think they figured out what happened. When I last had Covid, the muscles in my throat got loose at the same time as the nerves lost their connection.

Then they took some x-rays, and the system has improved greatly

Not all the way back, but much better than the last time they had checked.

They recommended that I continue to take small sips and bites, and to periodically clear my throat in case anything had gotten stuck.

Overall, I feel encouraged.

Amazon closed my account. Other fallout, too.

Amazon has closed my account. It started when Amazon started draining my eCash card with "fees". Then they transfered two of my gift cards (they were supposed to credit my eCash account instead) to my wife's separate account and I ended up buying my own Christmas present this year. The fees do not show up as charges, just money tranfers. I protested through Customer Service, was informed that the "problem" would be fixed, and that I would be compensated for the losses. None of that happened. In May, I tried to close the account. Five times since May.

OK, it's not new, just refurbished. If you read my blog you will remember that first Firefox crashed and the the OS went down in flames. I found a local shop that specializes in Lenovo and IBM. I had then swap the 120 gig drive C: for a terabyte and reinstall Windows 10. That took care of the software problems.

I had been having intermittent keyboard problems so I had them replace the keyboard. It turns out the keyboard is integral to top deck of the computer. As a result, the computer looks brand new.

Cosplay Words To Costumes

Amazing what we as writers do with words and stories, these people do with cloth, materials, and another kind of skill. Some of those costumes must be extremely hot, suffocating, and yet the persons inside are so enthusiastically dedicated they will suffer to showcase their talent to the admiring public. In a way, all of us wish to present an image to the family, friends, general public. Whether we dress up, dress down, or just slip something on, consciously, unconsciously we are presenting an image.

Last night I remembered a story I read (I think on here) that I cannot remember who wrote it, or a title... Premise was boy was roped in with his cousin(?) to help clean out an aunt or other family members house. As they did so they came across a series of dresses she had made that he then tries on since he's a doppleganger for the person she designed them for after being pushed into it by the cousin. The story revolves around those dresses and finding them since they're numbered and in an order as they clean out the house. Eventually SHE admits she's tg and moves forward.
