I awoke feeling cold, the towel had slipped off my body leaving me displaying my wares for all to see. I felt stiff and my head pounded. With a little difficulty I rose from the bed, my hair was all standing up on end, I would need to wet it again, and my eyes were still red from crying. I felt exhausted.

The warmth from Josh’s body did make her feel a little better. She began to relax against the need to keep warm. For some strange reason, his closeness, his strength comforted her. It scared her a bit as well. Why was she becoming comfortable being held by a guy? It didn’t make any sense did it? Eric was never held by anyone girl or guy - except on rare occasions by his mother, when he was younger. Why did this feel so…. So nice?

 

Synopsis:

Christmas is rapidly approaching, but it isn't happy times in the Barnes house. How will the school react to Jessica's and Wendy's Dad's car crash?

“I wanted to find out who you were, your Highness, what I did last night, however insincere it might have been, did let me see the Princess of Riponia in a way that only a few close to her get to see. I……”

“Reconnaissance if you will, your Highness.” Captain Kalhoun admitted. “I wanted to know what kind of person you were. Much like you wanted to know about me.”

I awoke hearing someone snoring, for a moment it startled me. I felt a moment of panic, wondering where the hell I was and more importantly whose body was draped around mine, snoring? Then as my mind began to function a little more, I remembered last night.

Debbie picked up the two small packages I had bought and walked round the car to join me. As she reached me, Pete walked towards us.

I froze.
