This is a sequel to ‘A Walk to a New life’ and "See things through a woman’s eyes’, it may help to relate to the characters if you read them first. But it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone if you prefer.

A young boy's life takes a huge change when he is forced to leave his remote island home.

John Taylor's life was in a bit of a rut, and an uplanned shake-up was exactly what was needed.

“Ex- excuse me?” The young woman asks, her facemask muffling her soft Yorkshire accent. “Can — can we get a selfie with you, please?” I allow myself a small chuckle as I turn to face the asker of the question — a girl barely older than sixteen, standing with three others of her age. All of them are wearing t-shirts with cartoon caricatures on the front and, even though I can’t see them, angel wing prints on the back, just like all t-shirts promoting the group I tried — and failed — to join.

Jo comes up with a solution to Ashley's missing suitcase, which leads to an unexpected outcome.

“Annnnnnnnd that’s £500, please,” Lil says with a smug grin, which widens as I sigh and hand her the pretend pink banknote. “Much obliged, Miss Williams!”

“Do NOT stuff that one down your bra, as I’m going to take it from you very soon!” Lydia teases, before rolling the dice and continuing our game of ‘Angels Monopoly.’

Today is day nine of our ‘incarceration’ in the Lincolnshire mansion, and the restlessness is already starting to kick in — hence why many of us have already resorted to Monopoly.

“Ah- shit, sorry…” Luke mumbled as he entered the college’s toilet block to find his twin standing at a urinal fastening his zipper.

“S’okay,” Lucas mumbled, not looking at Luke as the young trans man limped toward one of the cubicles. Both twins grimaced as the encounter ended, not least because it was the most words they’d exchanged with each other for weeks.

Fate had a peculiar way of playing with young Alex's life, a 15-year-old boy whose curiosity often led him to the edge of societal norms. Growing up with an older sister, Emily, had its perks. He had always felt a strange fascination with her clothes, especially her school uniform. It was a peculiar attraction that he could never quite put into words, but it was a part of him that he couldn't ignore.

One fateful evening, after his sister had left for college and his parents had gone out to dinner, he found himself alone in the house. He tiptoed into Emily's room, the scent of her lingering in the air. He reached for the hangers, his heart racing, and pulled out her skirt and blazer. He had snuck into her room countless times before to try on her clothes, but tonight was different. He had decided to take it a step further.

With trembling hands, Alex donned the uniform, feeling the fabric caress his skin as he transformed. He applied a bit of her makeup, just enough to accentuate his features, and styled his hair to mimic hers. Looking in the mirror, he saw a reflection that was both thrilling and terrifying. He had become a vision of his sister, yet not quite. It was an image of femininity that he hadn't dared to explore before.

The door slammed open, and Alex's heart stopped as his parents stormed in. Their eyes widened in horror and disbelief, and the silence was shattered by his mother's scream. His father's face was red with rage as he bellowed, "What is the meaning of this?"

Alex stuttered an apology, but the damage was done. His parents couldn't comprehend his actions, and they were ashamed. In their eyes, he had crossed a line that could never be uncrossed. Without another word, his father dragged him out of the house, throwing him onto the cold pavement with nothing but the clothes on his back.

The night was unforgiving, and Alex was lost in a world that had just turned its back on him. He wandered the streets, his mind racing with thoughts of what his future might hold. As dawn began to break, he found refuge in a deserted alley, the harsh reality of his situation setting in. He was cold, hungry, and utterly alone.

Chapter One.

I suppose my story started a few years ago. Let me take you back to the beginning.

Orla inserted her scuffed bronze-colored key into the lock, turned it, and opened the door. With its peeling light blue paint, it fortunately did nothing to betray the apartment's relative opulence.
It hadn't been like this when her and her grandmother, Kahri, first moved in. No, at that time, the place had been the dictionary definition of what the locals might call a "shithole," a term as unfamiliar to them as it was second nature to their new neighbors.

Dedicated to Sephrena Lynn Miller, in the hope that this story fits her expectations. Thank you for all you have done for the group.

Frances and Jill were friends from a long way back. They had met in their nursery school and unlike many small girls, or boys for that matter, had not been selfish, but had played happily together with imaginative games like ‘Doctors and Nurses’ or ‘Mummies and Daddies’ for as long as they were awake.

   She had me there. In the summer, she slept in a long tee-shirt and what could easily be men’s boxers except there was no fly and in the winter, it was flannel nightgowns knee length or longer.

   “Michael, it’s the middle of winter. Didn’t you notice the snow coming down as we drove home? If I wear that to bed, I’ll freeze my rearend off.”

   “You wear that to bed and I’ll warm you up in short order. Feel the fabric. It’s positively sensuous. I thought it would really enhance our performance on this romantic night.”

   “Well I’m not wearing it. If you think it will ‘enhance our performance’ all that much, then you wear it. You can freeze you hinny if you want.”
