Dawn being on the high ground and Kyle doing a lowdown dirty trick was adding more turbulence to the storm front on the mountain her husband choosen to die upon. She could not believe that he drove Linda to school without also taking Ron. How early they left meant that he was also getting them Micky D’s for breakfast. That was not how they treated their children. If any of their children were going to the same place then they all got a ride. If they were going to give one child a small treat then they all get a small treat.

They might not have been the exact words of the song, but they were running on repeat in my mind. I wasn’t in a good place, right now, and I think it was all of my own doing, although I didn’t know why.

I bite my lip nervously as I watch the countryside whizz by outside my window, partly because this is, by far, the furthest I have ever travelled as ‘Dina,’ but mostly because of what lies ahead of me — and what I’ve left behind me as well.

When at home, Marilyn dresses her husband Glen as a pretty girl. When she decides to also have Glen dress as a girl when they visit friends and family, his anxiety leads Marilyn to take him to a therapist to learn some coping skills.  The therapist's advice has the unintended consequence of endowing Glen with a superpower - the mindset of a preteen girl. As such he enjoys playing Barbies with other girls. Marilyn and the therapist are left trying to figure out how to get Glen back to being himself. 

Chapter 1: The Halloween Bash

The black envelope had arrived on Ethan’s doorstep a week ago, slipped under his door with no return address, no indication of who might have sent it. He had nearly thrown it away, thinking it was some kind of prank, but curiosity got the better of him. Inside was an invitation, written in looping, crimson script on thick, expensive paper:

    In this adventure Adrian let’s Tanya talk him into going to his works Halloween party dressed as Abigail in an angel costume, while Tanya goes with her dressed as a sexy little devil. Adrian knows he should say no to her, but he finds that he just can’t say no to her, so Abigail’s Halloween Adventure begins.

The team have a breakthrough , Megan and Rhiannon come up with a plan to snare Joe Chapman

This is a portion of a much larger story (so far 267060 words) I’m writing but I think it will fit in nicely for the Halloween. I may be stretching here a bit since the main character was physically castrated by war wounds and now absolutely represses any lingering sexuality. Kami and Johanna are MTF with herbal medication. Opening the wedding invitation that evening was like a stab in the heart, even though I had suspected this was coming. I sat down on my bed and heaved a huge part-sigh and part-sob. Vicky had chosen Pete over me, so that was that. It was easy to see why she might think he was the better choice; he’d always been more successful and manly than I was. In business he was doing extremely well, on the path to becoming a young executive, whereas I was never going to be executive material; I didn’t have much of a head for business. And Pete did seem like a nice enough guy, at least compared to some of the losers Vicky had seen in the past. Even though he was my rival I’d always almost liked him.

This was an alternate opening to the story that I submitted for the New Year’s Resolution contest. My muse has finally revealed that this was to be a story all its own.

Nearly three weeks had passed since I sent in my application form for what had quickly become known as ‘SYWTBAA’ online and, as time went on, I’d begun to put it further and further toward the back of my mind. In between my work, my meetings with Dr Clarke and my increasingly desperate efforts to keep my family in the dark about ‘Dina Williams,’ the idea of becoming Britain’s next ‘Angel,’ which had been a long shot to begin with, started to look more and more like a fairytale. This, however, didn’t stop me from exploring all the delights that being ‘Dina’ had to offer.
