I woke up before Christy and stared at the bare walls of her bedroom. Christy lived in the partially unfinished basement of her grandmother’s house where the walls sometimes felt wet and hanging posters was just about impossible. The grey, naked bricks had millions of holes and I thought that if I could lose my mind counting those holes then I wouldn’t have to deal with my current situation:
That my family life sucked.
That my love life sucked.
That life in general sucked.

Amber part 3

9th grade came and so did Farmington North High school. Back to the bottom of the food chain again. Being I hung with the wolf pack things didn't go to bad for me. One problem was gym, as I had to take ½ semester in 9th grade and another in 10th. By the grace of god or just dumb luck I had gym class with Marsha, Kate, and Sidney from the wolf pack. I secured my gym locker at the very end by the wall. With Marsha right next to me. I learned to change quickly and shower quicker yet. I made it through gym class.

‘It has been a great day, going to meet the girls, it seemed like forever since they’d had a good chat.’ Bern thought to herself, ‘nice to get dressed in something other than wellies!’

The actual subject of their ire made her way out the service door to the alley behind the boutique.... curiously invigorated by the rush of once again outwitting a pack of bullies... and dashed off as fast as her freakishly long legs would carry her, clad in only her under-burka running gear and trainers.... with absolutely NO idea where she was or where she was headed.

My name is Dr. Amber Michelle Reid, MD. And this is my story. Currently I am a family practice physician. Happily going on 20 yrs married to a great man, Gregory Paul Reid Jr. We have 7 daughters, Yep, 7 girls. One set of identical quadruplets who are 17 and one set of identical triplets who are 16. I am also a transgender. Yes, I was born a boy. That is the story I am going to tell.

Unseen, a young girl takes a horse out of the streets of Polis in the early morning light, heading towards Attlesburg. She is going to see him again. Her heart thumps at the thought. She thought to disappear after that night, surely he would not want to see her again. But then why wouldn’t he? They had a magical evening together, and he didn’t know her secret. She made sure of that. But now the web is getting tangled and she’s not sure if she can keep the threads from breaking.

Chapter 3 – Meet Sunflower

This story is set in the same "world" as LadyDragon623's stories about werefolk, vampires, fae and other supernatural creatures.

I have her express permission to use the "world" and characters she has mentioned in her stories if I feel they would fit into this story.

Another week passed as Callista finalized the purchase of the land and the change of title and deed.

Sam nervously sat in the doctor’s office. While this wasn’t the first time he had been called to the doctor’s office, it was the first time without being told why. He hoped they had discovered what was wrong with him and had a treatment plan. But, he was also afraid that the doctor was going to tell him that he couldn’t help him. He didn’t know which frightened him more. Sam couldn’t help but jump when the receptionist called his name. His mother squeezed his hand while his father patted him on the shoulder. It wasn’t much, but it reminded him that he wasn’t alone.

The seventeen year old boy stared at his reflection in the mirror and let out a long, tired sigh. It was a day he'd been planning for for weeks, and now that it was finally here, he felt nervous.

“I'll be late this afternoon,” I advised Dad as I collected my stuff Friday morning.

This is sequel to An Achean Tale and will make more sense if you read that first. I had no plans to write a sequel but the idea of the unknown tomboy's reaction to the amazons just wouldn't go away. There will not be any more of these. It was too hard to keep this light in a war. I basically just glossed over truths about casualties and the fate of female captives. I read a bowlderized version of the Illiad almost sixty years ago. Since then it has always been a part of the accepted cultural background of my life without ever reading a decent translation. That may have to change.
