“Cool! Were you this smart before you transformed? I wasn’t. I transformed while I was doing some science homework, and suddenly everything made a lot more sense, and I read to the end of the textbook by the end of the week, and asked Mrs. Taylor for some more books...”

Stephanie’s voice, and once again I found myself frozen to the floor. Kirsty must of felt like she was dragging a dead person as she pulled me down the stairs. 

During our short journey to the kitchen, I noticed an abundance of family photos on the walls. Not one of them had a boy in them, every photo either had Kaitlyn and Harpher together, Stephanie and Kaitlyn, Stephanie and Hayley. There wasn’t anyone who looked like they could be Kaitlyn’s father, which made me feel double as much horrified as I already was.

Carter sat leaning over his knees, which were pressed together so his panties weren’t visible beneath his skirt. The TV was on and the commercials were droning on, but he was looking at Victoria.

She was sitting beside him, off to the side so she wasn’t too close. She was looking at him too, some disposed-of tissues on the side table nearby. Her eyes were still a little red and puffy, and she looked… defeated.

Carter sighed. He was so bored.

“So…” he said, shifting in his seat and trying not to ask about magic, “How’s school?”

Finally, I get back to a weekly schedule. And the next chapter is more than half finished (it might be a double chapter).

A quick knock
On Stacey/Stuart’s bedroom door
Was greeted by
A hurried
“Just one moment please”.

“It’s ok Stacey
You do not have hide
Anymore”
Jane told her
Through the closed door.

Slowly
The door open
A half dressed Stacey
Looked out.

Not sure
If she had heard right
From her big sister.

“You heard right Stacey
From me.”

Jane rushed forward
Crushing Stacey
In a fierce hug.

Typical me, always getting into arguments.

My name is Kaleb. I'm a senior in high school. This is the story about the time I took things too far.

I am on the basketball team at my high school. Recently, we had lost a game because of miscommunication. This was largely because of the cheerleaders. They were at fault because we couldn't hear over them. I chose to bring this up to Courtney, the head cheerleader.

"It wasn't our fault." She claimed.

"Yes it was. We couldn't hear each other over your stupid cheers," I rebutted.

Logging has started. The god Mitra, of whom Keltraya worshiped, materialized upon this mortal world on the docks where we brought up into port. He put the dock-master to shame for his cheating ways and scheming for more money. Mitra inspired fear and forced the truth of what he had done out in front of everyone on the docks at that moment. What wasn't well known, was that as Mitra appeared, a certain party member, a white dragon of half human heritage, slipped unnoticed over the other side of the sloop and disappeared within the crowd.

“I went off to do the proper thing a dragon should do when they fail to keep a word promise,” Valeria mused as she rubbed the soapy water over her bare chest and shoulders, “I had gone to purchase a new set of clothing and to take a bath. At the time, I was thinking of offing myself on the bed in a fresh new set of clothes to give myself at least a proper send off. What actually happened, was that I had altered my plan upon touching the soothing hot water in the tub. It felt absolutely divine. I realized that I could leave faster if I used my claws to slit my wrists. To have it over with as fast and painless as possible.”

“I mean honestly, who goes looking for this sort of trouble?”

Carter paced back and forth across his room for a while, occasionally glancing back at his door as if it would suddenly become unlocked. Eventually, he was shaking so much he had to sit and take a breath.

He was losing control. How could he possibly fix this situation? What could he say to Victoria to convince her to change him back? What would happen if somebody came by to check up on them? Who would believe him, the way he looked now, over Victoria?

He almost didn’t believe it himself.

The book. Carter scrambled, pulling open his backpack and grabbing the book.

Her knuckles balled white around the hem of her skirt and pulled it over her knees, which in turn bounced in time with the ticking of the clock. Three-fifteen was the cue for dismissal, save for one who had been removed from class early and was seated in the main foyer.

There's a bit of foul language in this piece. The caution for violence is due to the story being about the effects of war.

Friday, July 5, 2013 7:15 PM The Brothers Soup Kitchen and Shelter next to St. Agnes Catholic Church, South Boston, MA, USA

I had just finished eating my meal, the meal today being a rather decent beef stew with some hefty dinner rolls when I noticed a woman standing in the entryway. She pulled something from her wallet, looked at it and then looked around the room.

Once the kids on the bus saw me turn into Jamie, and told other kids at school and their families about us, it wasn’t more than a week before we had a reporter knocking on our door. I found out about it when I woke up in the playground that night with TV cameras and lights pointing at me.

VII. Muzzle

I kept to myself for the remainder of the morning. I mean, I talked to Christy and Becky during class switch and told them what happened. How I was going to have to spend my noon time sitting in a small room with Josh. We all thought it was kind of funny that a week before, it would have been perfect with just the two of us together; well, with a teacher or someone from the office looking in on us, but we'd still be near each other.
