Ilos continues!

Ilos is a story about another world that's become intertwined with Earth via what are known as Keys, a tool in the shape of a metal headband that allows those on Earth to access Ilos and interact with it. However, the magic of Ilos has snatched some of those with Keys away from Earth permanently and a mad scramble ensues to figure out what has truly happened and deal with things as Ilos continues to encroach on Earth. The story follows Aria, Nick, and Tasalin as they fight, scheme, and command on their way to the answers they seek in this new land.

This next part of Chapter 9: The End of Isolation contains a bunch of new discoveries and some hints on what's soon to come!

 

I punched the speed dial on my Mobile.
It was a Friday afternoon in early March and I needed some entertainment.

“Hello Jen. What’s up? Your Boss still trying to feel you up then?”

“Hi Kylie. No. He’s not. I’ve threatened to tell his wife if he tries it again.”

They both laughed.

“As it’s the last Friday of the month and I’m assuming that you’ve been paid so how about some fun tonight?”

“I don’t know Jen,” she said with a big Sigh.

“Come on K. It’s been nearly nine months now.”

This story was originally conceived to be a stand alone tale, but it fit Dorothy's M.Y.T.H. universe without too much modification. It starts about a year before Help! My girlfriend is a Unicorn!

My life changed when I was taking my evening hike through the back forty. I just didn't realize it at the time.

I was walking home in the dark when suddenly I got hit by a truck. Or at least I like to think I got hit by a truck. The last thing I saw was a bright light in the corner of my vision then darkness.

Well, here I am, in another world. Son of a bitch. I’m even a baby. Now, I have to lay here for about four years to even be able to walk. I hate waiting. Well, it’s not all bad, my mother is a fox. I mean literally, a fox. Well, more of a quarter fox from what I can see. Some type of demi-human with fox ears and a tail.

Still, lots of details are changed, so don't skip by familiar parts or you might miss something.

When magic spells are cast, some are very specific, but others are vague on the details. If a wizard changes a man into a lovely maiden, he might decide what the new woman looks like and how she's dressed. But what happens if the change is triggered by a magical object, or an ambiguously worded wish? Who determines what standard of beauty to use? Who determines what clothes she's wearing after the transformation and makes sure that it's color-coordinated? Who decides on her hair and makeup? Or imprints skills she may need for her new life? They are...the DMGC.

“Werewolves suck,” Andrew moaned as he scooped up all his cards.

“What happened?” I asked with a smile and lightly taunting note. “This morning you were going to wreck me.”

“Fucking life steal,” he muttered under his breath.

Bill, the store owner, chuckled from behind the counter. “I think you’ll find that it’s vampires, technically, who suck. And don’t feel bad, Andrew, I know how much Sam spent on his deck.”

Leigh Stone was surprised to find an invitation to the Magnolia Ball. It was the same event where his mother killed his father and then herself. He wanted to go after his parents came to him in a dream and said his mother was not the person Leigh had been raised to believe she was.

With the help of her girlfriend and a few forgotten relatives, including two women whose parent's passed under tragically similar circumstances, Hopefully Leigha and her family could get to the bottom of these Relative Possessions.
