Chapter 1

They say that you can’t choose your parents, and I for one, can heartily agree with that. My own parents, Duke and Daisy Smithers, should have had a better upbringing if there had been any justice in the world. Their own two sets of parents were aging hippies, living in a commune and growing odd plants.

I’m not saying that they were bad people on the few times I had met them, merely spaced out for most of the time. I’m still not sure if my parents had actually married, but the five of us children all bore the surname of Smithers.

The following morning my mother first picked up the Twins and all our schoolbags from Niamh’s house, then on to Ciara’s. Ciara squeezed in the back while her mother sat in the front passenger seat. As we were about to pull off, Aoife remarked that Ciara didn’t have a seat belt on; there were only three belts in the back of the car. Saoirse unclipped herself from the middle seat belt, yielding it to Ciara, unclipped my belt, snuggled in beside me, and clipped us both into the one belt.

“Sorted!” she announced and my mother pulled off again.

Ashton wondered why he had even bothered to attend his prom. He was going stag, which said a lot he thought. Always there but never the main person. He looked around and saw all the people that in one way or another had made a mark in school. Bill the star quarter-back. Mary the head cheerleader. Peter, the star baseball pitcher, accompanied by his date Eric who’s batting (almost) always amazed people. Charleene the student council president. Wolfgang the school paper editor-in-chief. Martin this year’s valedictorian to be. Ashton had interacted with all of them and was constantly in their shadows. Perhaps that was his problem. All the others had focused on one thing they were good at. Ashton had let himself be spread out.

I was appalled when I saw the leotard slip on a girl on the opposing girl gymnastics team. I glimpsed a penis! That's cheating! Of course I couldn’t just let that pass. However, I decided to give them the chance to withdraw quietly so I cornered the “girl” in question and told him their team had to forfeit or I’d tell the judges.

Down the Transgender Fiction Rabbit Hole!

I fell down the transgender fiction rabbit hole late one summers evening between my junior and senior year in high school. I can still recall how it happened, it was simple enough, it was early in the evening and mom had been invited out to dine at a local restaurant by one of her co-workers. Leaving me alone, to fend for myself. Well not really fend for myself, she had slipped me three twenty dollars bills and told me to door-dash something.

I blame it all on AI. So OK, everybody blames everything on AI these days, but in this instance it is the complete, unvarnished truth.

I woke early on Saturday, excited and terrified by the thoughts of the coming day. Probably more excited than terrified, yesterday’s excursion having done much to allay my fears. I checked the time; 5am. Still time for another snooze. I turned over, snuggled further into the duvet, closed my eyes, and stayed fully awake. After about 10 minutes or so, I decided I might as well get up and start to get ready. I wandered to the bathroom and was just about to step into the shower when I saw a small box on the shower tray with a note.

The Arrogance of Youth

The youth was excited. Today was to be the day that he had been longing for. It had been a few years since he first wanted to cross-dress. He had bought a few things while he was at his last college but had had been at this one only a few months.

Sally smiled and said.

"Oh, don't say just. A housewife, Susan, it's a full-time job."

Bill's hand was working its way up my skirt under the table and was tugging the strap on my suspender belt. He loved me in stockings, which was why I wore them tonight.

Looking at the oldest Ordnance Survey maps, initially it’s Gleann an Loch Dubh, The Valley of the Black Lake. It is reasonable to assume that the lake was named for its’ colour, being fed by numerous streams emanating from the surrounding peatland. In the next series of maps, it has been shortened to Gleann Dubh, thus the Valley of the Black Lake had become, simply, the Black Valley. This was subsequently anglicised to Glandoo. The locals knew it either as the Black Valley or Glandoo.

Matty Caff Comics are created by me. Each comic is a stand alone mini story. I only use AI to create the image I imagine first. 95% of making the comic is manual. The comics range from complete fantasy to absolutely true stories from my past.

Comment if you like them, would like me to create your ideas, or even constructive criticism. But I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of comments after over 490 posted comics.
