Unbeknown to the delinquent Langdon Arden, his stepmother Elisa has sold his magical essence, which is called "mana," to a society of wizards. If the mana is lost, the male reverts to the human default, which is female. Connor’s mom and Beth’s dad were good friends while she was in the dimension, and they’ll quickly discover that they enjoy hanging out with each other. They’ll also discover that if either is going to survive to the end of the semester academically or as mature adults, they’ll need to help each other out. If not, Connor could quickly find himself on the one-way road to being adopted by some Big, and Beth might not be far from that fate either…
