After all, Mason had just lost his spot in woodworking one of the few electives guaranteed to keep his reputation intact. Woodworking was solid, practical, and, above all, manly. It was the kind of class where splinters and sweat were expected, and few girls ever ventured.

Maya sat on the edge of her bed in the quiet of her bedroom. The only light in the room came from the soft glow of a small lamp on the bedside table, its warm yellow circle dancing gently across the walls. Her legs were bare in comfy blue shorts, and her pink top felt too bright against the dimness around her. She held the football jersey delicately in her hands, her fingers tracing the embroidered letters of MASON across the back.

Commodore Sally Fleet Naan Battle, a highly decorated naval officer who’d originally worked her way up through the ranks as a marine, was entirely in agreement with the Ayce legislation concerning the criminals of space. She’d told the assembled pirates, “Let me be quite clear about your future, you are going to die, all of you. All you have left to do is decide the manner of your deaths. If you tell me what I wish to know I shall grant you a quick and painless death. If you make things difficult you will be summarily executed by whatever means is most convenient to my marines, be that knife, sidearm or the vacuum of space. If you refuse to talk I intend to allow the mothers of the youngsters you brutalised and tortured for months to deal with you. They have promised me that they will not kill you till I tell them that I have all the information I require to wipe out all your colleagues and their bases. It’s entirely up to you, and lest you be concerned regarding the legality of my actions, we are in currently Ayce space and under their legislation.

Two marginalized college students, Sam and Pat, get revenge on cheerleaders Talia and Megan by using the Medallion of Zulo to copy their bodies and film themselves kissing and making out. They post the photos and videos on Keyhole, an online subscription community. The plan works but at what cost when the students must return to class as themselves.

The first day, we didn’t actually go in ourselves. We just poked equipment through the portal on poles of various sorts, and took readings from it. We didn’t get a GPS signal or cellular phone signal except for what came through the portal from here. By closing the door I’d installed, and using a longer pole, we concluded there was no trace of those signals.

Readers should read the previous ‘Body’ stories to get the full back story for Maxine, as well as the first two ‘Cuz’ stories for Andy and Maria. This is a little Christmas bonus. This one is each day until the end of the week.
